It was bound to happen eventually.
After a pretty serious collision between the S15, the R32 and the Low Brain / Severnside PS13 during a train at the Sunderland Nissan Factory – we ended up with two pretty bent cars.
Fortunately one of our sponsors and close friends Julian Smith from Garage-D is an absolute master with metal, and both the completely stoved in rear quarters were replaced and repaired. The whole thing was videoed, you can check out the original post here: Driftworks S15 R32 Crash. Sadly, it wasn’t the end of all the problems.
The car was back together, but the engine decided it’s oil pump needed to explode, and it did in spectacular fashion.
So we had to rebuild the entire engine. And the turbo, which also died.
New turbo on the left. Good for 800bhp!
And it was fitted. The car made 696bhp on the ProTuner super accurate dyno, and that was with wheel spin. We don’t know the actual number.
And in the nick of time too – Phil secured the British Drift Championship in a real nail biting finale, and James (right) and Phil could finally sleep at night. 🙂
Next year we have some really really exciting plans for the S15, and hopefully you will see something quite special and unique that will blow your socks off!
Think you need to crange water pump to Oil pump under the not so well 2jz
