Bob Patinka is a privateer that has been competing in DMCC for a number of years.. With a smooth style and calm head he has even made it onto the podium a few times.. For this season I will be following him around and documenting his 2013 DMCC season.
Early Saturday morning Bob and his crew set up their pit area and start to focus on whats ahead.
Since its round 1 it was also time to get the car its final tech inspection..And then off to the first drivers meeting of 2013.
Bob and fellow American Tanner Munson..
With the meeting done it was time for a quick check on the car before heading out on the track.
Weather forecast called for rain but so far it was still dry.
Even tho this was pretty much the first time Bob was out with his 2013 set up it seemed to be going great..
Practice went great and before we knew it was time for the qualifications.
First Pass was great.. But with the new knock out style qualifications Bob was 1 half point short in order to get himself locked into the top 8.
His second run was good to get him into 12th place in the main event!
Next day practice session started off good.. but then track conditions went out the window.
RAIN!
It rained off and on for most of the practice session.
After the practice session the pits were open for fans to come check out the race cars.
Bob giving away some hero cards.!
After the pits were closed to the public it was time for the main event..
With the chance of more rain on the way DMCC skipped its usual top 16 driver into and just had the drivers to a drive by the crowd to save time..
Out on the pre grid Bob was focused and ready to go.. His first battle was against Tanner Munson.
Bob had a good first pass and was on line!.
His chase run was crazy..He initiated right with Tanner.
And stayed on him through out the course. Judges agreed..Bob got the win.
Bobs top 8 battle was against Jeff Laflamme who was driving on point all weekend. Again Bob initiated hard with him and stuck with him through out the course.
And on Bobs lead run he kept a good distance on Jeff.
And the win went to Bob!..Moving onto the Final 4 battle!
Bobs first Final 4 battle was against last years champ Marc Landreville.. Marc was driving a borrowed pro am car.. Bob drove great but under estimated Marc just enough for him to get the win..
Battle for 3rd was against Eric Paradis.. It was a great run for both drivers..
But Eric was able to stick a little closer on his chase runs and was awarded the win.
4th place is not bad at all for the first round.. Im positive Bob will be on a mission for one of the podium spots at the next round!
Bob would like to thank all his sponsors: OverDosed Performance, SS plus towing, Federal Performance, BC Racing, Canton racing, Bully Clutch, Ultra Buys, Patinka Motorsports.
