Rd 4 of competition took place in Victoriaville Quebec.
RD3 4 started like every other round. Bob and his crew unpack the truck and get the pit ready.
And then it was off the the first drivers meeting of the event before going out for practice.. Bob chatting with Pat Cyr and Fancis Tasse.
Just as Bob was suiting up the skies opened up and it started to rain.
Even in the wet Bob was looking solid right out of the gate.
One cool thing about this track is that there is a “jump” . Not much jumping going on but a lot of splashing.
Bob’s crew pushing up the car in the pre grid.
It had at least stopped raining.
Before long the track started to dry and Bob was looking even better!
Bob chasing down Joe Thiffault.
Getting some air time!
After practice the field was set to qualify but it had started to rain again and looked like the rain was going to get worse.
Bob’s serious face!
So after having a quick drivers meeting the call was made to put the qualifications to the next day where everybody could run in the dry.
The day was not over.. The rain had stopped and it was time for the annual parade that DMCC does in the street of Victoriaville. I told Bob to get to the front.
That was I could get some neat shots of him driving on the street!
Once at the destination with all the drift cars parked it was time to relax..
But Bob decided to shine up the drift car first.
Ok..Now its time to relax. After putting down some crazy runs all day Bob enjoys a well deserved drink.
The next day was interesting. Since the quals were pushed back the drivers were only given one run before having to get back inline to do their qualification pass.
Bob put down a good run locking him into the 5th position.
After quals there was a track break. Bob Signed some hero cards.
And even a fans t-shirt!
Bob giving out some T-shirts during the top 16 drivers intro. And then it was time to battle.
Bob faced Simon Schaffner..Bob entered super fast..
Maybe a tad to fast.. when I saw the fronts lock up I knew something was not good.
Sure enough Bob plower right into the tire wall. Thankfully the car was ok. Bob was able to line up for his chase run.
With nothing to loose Bob on fire!
Got right up on Simon..
It was one of the best tandem runs of the event but it was not enough to over come the crash on his lead run.
Despite having a bit of bad luck Bob is sitting in 4th place in the overall championship and is in great contention to move up the ranks.
