Lexus IS200 / Toyota Altezza XE10 Wheel Fitment Guide

The SXE10 has been one of the post popular entry level drift chassis for a long time now due to its fairly strong standard engine. Turbo swaps are pretty easy and reliable if you change the gearbox to something that isn’t made of chocolate like the J160.

You also have the option of the Altezza’s Beam’s engine that are pretty revy but still kind of slow.

1JZ / 2JZ swaps are pretty common also, so there are plenty of options.

Things To Watch Out For!

Much like with JZX100/JZX110, the SXE10 doesn’t take a massive wheel without modification, so you have to be careful with offsets. If you go for too high an offset and too wide a wheel then the Wheel will hit the OEM Spindle –

This happens around 9″ wide, where you need to use ET38-45 to fit in the OEM arch, however you need a 3-5mm slip-on spacer to clear the spindle.

In The Standard wheel / Standard arch sizes this isn’t something you need to worry about.

The Solution for this is a shortened spindle and Roll Center Adaptors, you can find the RCA on the Driftworks Shop. The Spindles you will need to source online.

17″ or 18″?

For the best look you need to decide what you are doing with Aero,

For OEM Bumpers / TTE Factory Kit i would recommend 17″ Wheels. This lets you keep the car low without wrecking the kit.

OEM Bumpers – 18″ Wheels, Looks a bit strange IMO
OEM Aero / Lip Kit with 17″ – Much better

OEM Wheel Size

The Factory wheel size for IS200 is 17×7 ET50 –

OEM+ Size

The TTE (Team Toyota Europe) Wheel size for this car is only slightly wider but fits with no additional arch work.

If you were to use 18×7.5 ET48-45 in any wheel design, you would be safe.

Sporty fitment – Rolled Arches / Lowdown Style

With an arch roll, a smaller tire and a bit of negative camber you can massively improve the look of the SXE10.

In this case widths and offsets are semi dependant on how small a tire / how much of an arch roll you want to do.

Here is a tuff IS200 1G-FE+T with 18x 9.5 ET12 front and rear with tiny tires, you could use an ET25 with a larger more legal tire.

Sizes for Overfenders

Not all overfender’s are the same, so these sizes will relate to what i can see as the most common types.

Please bear in mind alot of companies make replica’s of each others arches, so an advertised “30mm+” arch. was probably 30mm+ 3 companies ago and there can be variation in molds. If you’ve made it to the point of chopping your arches out, you should be willing to measure to get the fitment right.

Kits like the “Rocket Bunny style” kit would need F: 18×9.5 ET12 / 18×1.5 ET20 or around there.

I would recommend before ordering, using our site Willtheyfit.com to check against your current wheel sizes!

Remember :

Good wheel fitment is key to pulling off an overfender, if you have sunk in wheels and a massive Rocket Bunny Kit, you would have been better not fitting the kit until you got the wheels 😉
