Day in the Office: Part 31 – Insiders

I have been faced with quite a difficult task with this weeks insight into life at Driftworks Head Quarters. With half the staff away in Japan ‘Living the Dream’, the remaining half of us have been super busy ensuring your level of service is retained so squeezing in the usual activities has proven a little difficult!

Young Dan is going (dare I say it) a little ‘more’ mad whilst painting the remainder of the new buildings floor. Perhaps all the fumes are going to his head or something, but here I caught him having a nice little sing to himself. Possibly doing his famed ‘Morrissey’ impression?

Brother Zube, a good friend of ours here at DWHQ dropped by to show us his recently acquired E36 coupe sitting nice on a set of wide 16’s. Already a pretty cool looking car, so we are looking forward to seeing what Zube’s capable hands can do with it over time.

So whats been happening inside the office then? I could sum it up in one word to be honest. CAKE. Mel has been looking after us Lads whilst we are moping around wishing we were in Japan by baking us a few cakes! Thursday saw my personal favourite, the chocolate coated Flapjack take centre stage. It didn’t last long believe me, even without the main cake man Bon here…

Bon is still with us in the office in spirit though.

Talking of Bon, how many of you watched the now famous ‘Fat guy bends fake Nardi’ video on YouTube?! Well that very same bendy fake Nardi has now become my personal little wall decoration above the packing desk and continues to make me laugh each time I look up. “Errr, it’s crap, but not that crap”

Meanwhile the DWS15 (sporting a GENUINE Nardi of the Driftworks variety!) is taking a well earned rest after an eventful 2011 season tucked away in the DW workshop. I’d imagine it’s still on a high from being piloted by this years Formula D champion Dai Yoshihara at the great Drift Allstars Wembley event. The car still sporting Dai’s ‘I <3 Japan’ Relief for Japan charity sticker proudly on the rear screen.

To break up the bout of BMW’s we have here on the staff car park, I decided to grab a photo of Phil ‘FlikstRR’ Maclachlan’s Turbo’d MX5.
A seriously cool car which comprises of some real nice, choice parts including a set of HSD’s, Nardi deep corn wheel, a set of Yamaha Black Rota Grid V’s in 8j width and lot’s more. I’m intending to do a full feature on the car soon so I don’t want to give too much away, but here’s a nice little teaser to keep you occupied.

Now, who else looking forward to seeing some of the Outsiders footage huh?!
