After being taken out of competition due to a mechanical failure Bob was back and ready for Rd3 that took place at the River Side Speedway in Ste Croix Quebec.
Bob and his crew got to the track early to set up and get ready for the first day of the event which consisted of 2 practice sessions and then qualification.
As his crew made the final prep to the car Bob headed to the first drivers meeting of the day.
With it being pretty much a totally new track it was important to pay attention to what the judges were looking for since it could make or break how well you would finish the event.
With the drivers meeting over it was time to hop out on track and burn some rubber.
After a few runs Bob was getting used to the track and what lines to take.
Here he is taking a slightly too high of a line..Looked cool tho.
Bob was putting down solid runs through out practice.
After a few more practice laps it was already time for qualification. With the new knock out style of qualification all the drivers have to give it all they got right out of the gate in order to get the best position possible.
On Bob’s first pass out he was able to lock himself into the 5th spot for the main Top 16 event…
The next morning before practice Bob chats with former DMCC driver Greig Basdeo..Greig will be returning to competition this season…at some point.
During the top 16 practice Bob really turned it up.
He was really solid out there.
Look close.. Bob is right on Max Lemoines bumper..No idea how he was able to see anything.
Before the top 16 was about to start there was a short track break.. Not a bad deal..Pro DMCC driver Bob Patinka for sale for only 140$!
This actually happened while Bob was staged on the pre grid..An other pilot took a high line and flung a piece of asphalt out into the air where it lander on Bobs windshield. Â Lucky tho it didn’t hit any of the track workers.
As always Bob signed autographs for fans.
High Five! Mr ODParts.ca himself Chris T came out to cheer Bob on.
As Bobs crew got the car ready for Top 16.
Bob took it easy..It was crazy hot out…
Smokey donuts during the drivers intro are always fun!
Bobs first match up was against DMCC Pro rookie Vincent Theberge.
Both of Bobs runs were solid. Vincent had put a tire off on his chase run.. Bob moved on to the Great 8.
In the Great 8 Bob faced Alex Michaud.
Sadly Bob had a straight on his chase run and despite having a great lead it was not enough to overcome and Alex got the win.
Next round is coming up soon at Victoriaville. It is going to be a good one!
Thanks
