After having a disappointing outcome at the last round of DMCC, Bob Patinka was set to give it all he had for RD7 that took place at the RiverSide Speedway in St Croix Quebec.
Getting to the track early is key.
This is the 3rd time this season that DMCC is at this track so to switch it up they were running the course backwards. So during the drivers meeting the judges went over what they were going to be looking for on this layout.
Before the first practice session Bobs crew made sure the car was in proper shape.
Once the Pro AM practice session was over Bob headed to his car to get ready for the first Pro practice session of the event.
Practice for Bob was ok but not great. He was really good on some part of the track but was having issues ( like many drivers ) to link the whole track smoothly..
It didnt help that with a few big accidents the practice time was cut so Bob did not have as many laps as he would of liked.
After one last practice session it was time for qualifications.
On his first qualification run it pretty much all came together and Bob put down a solid run getting him in the 6th spot and locking him in for the big show.
The next day it started off very grey out and cloudy and they were calling for some heavy rain but Bob kept in good spirits.
Sure enough the skies opened up for the first practice session.
And continued to rain very hard pretty much up until the Top 16 main event.
For Bobs first battle he faced fellow American Mike Pollard
Bob had a really good lead run.
On his chase run Bob was able to stick with Mike with really good proximity and was awarded the win.
Bob now faced Phil Bruyere who he lost to at the last round.
It was a decent tandem battle for both drivers but a mistake on Phils part gave the win to Bob sending him into the Final 4!
Bob now faced Max Lemoine in his crazy drift truck.
Bob had a great lead run but Max is a great driver so he was going to have to really put it down on his chase.
Bob really poured it on..He was so close to Max that you could barely see Bobs car but he came in a bit too aggressive into the last corner and went passed full lock and spun.
It was not over for Bob as he would not have a chance to battle for 3rd.. Bob sat and waited to see he would face.
It turned out that Bob would be facing Jeff Laflamme BUT Jeff had to forfeit since his car broke during his last battle giving the 3rd place podium to Bob..
This was Bobs first podium of the season and well deserved. With this podium he is very close to being on the podium for the championship aswell.
