The DWS15 was built to be one of the best drift cars in the world, and in it’s first year of use in 2008 it’s certainly surpassed all expectation.
There’s always been something that bugged us about it though, and that was that we kind of made it look how we thought it should look, rather than how we wanted it to look.
Driftworks started as two black cars with some orange parts fitted, then slowely deviated and evolved into full on tango’d cars with hints of black. This took something away from the moody look that the cars had had in the past.
The S15’s performance does all of the shouting it needs to. It doesn’t need to look like a race car to prove itself, so we felt it was time to go back to our roots, and repaint the S15 to be the car it always should have been.
As it happens the paintwork was completed the morning that we were due at Weston Performance for a remap after fitting a slightly smaller exhaust housing to the turbo. The resulting power thanks to Greg Gush’s fantastic work, ties in rather nicely with the new look, and I can’t wait to get out on track in it again this season.
