Behind the scenes with DW at JDM Allstars

Things are calming down a bit (we’re still yet to see the official JDM film which is coming soon) but the feeling of being back out in a drift paddock was awesome for Team Driftworks. It wasn’t without its problems of course, but it didn’t stop us having a great weekend… continued:

Bleary eyed, but on immaculate form as usual Dan Chapman was there in his fresh livery, plus some new pants and shoes. Dan went on to claim 3rd place after the undisputed battle of the year so far between Luke Fink;

Chav was giving Al directions on how to use his camera gear – tips included ‘Taking the lens cap off’ and ‘putting a new tape in’.

Bon arrived on Saturday evening, making some final tweeks to the BonMobile. The R32 is now sporting crazy lock thanks to running an S-Body front suspension setup and the Driftworks GeoMaster hub knuckles.

TEAM NEEDS CAFFEINE. AND SHAKES.

Jay and Paz discuss the judging whilst Al and Josh head out on Bryns amazing Landrover lowrider:

On Sunday morning, Phils S15 developed a case of ‘no clutch’, and the team set about checking the rear crank seal. Sadly, it turned out to be just a broken pedal box, but missing qualification meant no more driving today.

Jay and Adam were spannering furiously all weekend to try and get the cars running again. Despite the problems, everyone at DW was enjoying themselves – whats the point of doing something if you don’t enjoy it?

So it wasn’t the day for the DW S15 or R32 – But we will be back. Dan smashed it – and represented DW perfectly. We’re looking forward to it already.

See you soon,

Team Driftworks
