I first built this car in 2010 making it one of the very first S85 V10 swapped cars on the planet.
but as we started the process we quickly realised it was in pretty bad shape, and really required a much more intensive restoration, and I kind of got a little carried away with ideas to improve it.
It was build with the expert help of Craig from Dynotorque next door, and became one of the most well known M3s on the internet.
I sold the car in mid 2013 to make way for the blue 911 GT3. After a year or so, the car was damaged in Germany and sat for many years outside at a very well known BMW tuners at the Nurburgring.
I had seen the car abandoned on one of my own Nurburgring trips. It was so sad to see it left to rot after how much of my life I’d put into building the car, so I spent the next few years trying to make an extremely complicated deal to buy the car back.
In late 2018 I successfully made the deal and 7 days before Christmas, Jay, Al and I set off on a journey to the frozen Nurburgring to rescue the car.
Because of the massive workload with my other car projects, work didn’t start on the restoration of V1TEN until early 2020. The original plan was to simply get it back on the road, but as we started the process we quickly realised it was in pretty bad shape, and really required a much more intensive restoration, and I kind of got a little carried away with ideas to improve it.
