This was my first Porsche. I bought it sight unseen, having never driven one before. So it absolutely knocked my socks off driving it for the first time. At the time of first buying it in 2013 I’d sold my V10 M3 to buy it. I eventually sold this on and only recently (2020) bought it back.
a GT3 is essentially a highly modified car in its stock form, except Porsche modified it, not a bunch of Brummies.
It’s a Riviera Blue 997.2 GT3 Clubsport with the full carbon fibre bucket seats and roll cage as standard.
It’s not really a very Driftworks’y car, as it’s not highly modified. But the point is that a GT3 is essentially a highly modified car in its stock form, except Porsche modified it, not a bunch of Brummies.
When I first owned it I’d fitted Strasse forged monoblock wheels, Ohlins TTX coilovers (normally found on the Nurburgring Cup race cars), a lightweight 1pc flywheel and Guard LSD, a shifter and some shifter cables. The guy I sold the car to put it back to stock as I’d kept all the original parts and included them with the car.
Now in it’s current (post 2020 buy back) form it has the Strasse wheels back on, some Pilot Sport 4s (I mostly drive it on the road and throughout winter so Cup 1’s are a bit sketch) and I’ve fitted an awesome Kline Innovation Inconel valved exhaust system and it has a Cup plated LSD. It definitely doesn’t drive as well as I remember, so I’m entertaining fitting some Nitrons to it.
Fitting the Kline Inconel exhaust and going for a blast.
