This is our just acquired 06 Drift Project. This is a 3 way owned car that we plan on trailering to practice days.

Plans so far are:
- A good service ( tho it is in good condtion and been well looked after)
- Strip it as much as possible
- Install an oil temp gauge
- Make sure it has a rev limiter, if not install one.
- Theres a couple of small rust patches that need attention.
- Install the M5 Seats we got with it.
- Possibly lower it later depending on how we get on

And then, to basically drift the nuts out of it. :D

good work!

There will be a rev limiter, and you can take a lot of weight out of it..

Sounds very similar to my plans. .

Make sure you get the right oil for the diff.

An update of the welded diff and springs that will be going in:

Thanks to Nick for the diff and to JimboTurbo ( http://www.racingarage.com/ ) for the springs. Both Top Notch Guys

Also managed to pikey some perspex for the side windows.
Now to fit them. Anyone got any advice/gotchcas??

Ive been told that perspex can shatter in a crash, so you should really use polycarb..... easy way to find out though..... cut off a wee bit and hit it with a hammer! :)

Let me know how you get on!

Glad you got those springs eventually!

I'm getting the full kit for mine soon.. pix when they're fitted?

Let me know if ya need any help sorting it all out..

ive ordered spax adjustable suspension kit for my e28, having trouble getting off the rear shocks from the trailing arm though, even using a bearing puller only gets so far before it sticks. im gonna bust out the WD40 tommoro, i couldnt find it earlier. the front suspension is gonna be a new design to me, ive only worked on fords which use a pinch thing on the hub, but the bm's have struts with retaining nuts and shit but i just hope mine isnt siezed up

Do you want the rear shocks? No?? Get a massive lump hammer and beat the fuck out of them as low as possible, they will come off.

Front struts are an arse but even if it's seized you can heat it up and chop up the nut and stuff and it'll come off. :)

the subframes off the car now, shocks still on, bent the bearing puller trying to get it off :wack:

heated it up using heat gun and something started to burn so we might be carrying on with that tactic. it wont even twist more than 180deg and even that takes your entire body weight on the shock. i strongly beleive nearly everything on my car was from when it was made. the dampers say "made in west germany" and it just generally has the impression nothings been moved for 23 years.

the front struts arent off yet, we were rained off, but half of the bolts are loose/off and the discs/calipers are off.

the subframe was heavy, so we managed to split it so it was just the shocks/diff/driveshafts/trailing arms and me and my mate luke bust our backs lifting it and carrying it upstairs inside to clean/paint lol..... is the diff casing cast iron? it looks/feels it!!!
