1JZ Clutch options

Nurse?
Hi!

ive looked on you lovely shop but i thought id also ask to get some experience answers also..

i need a clutch for my 1jz, for a while its going to be running standard power, but ill undoubtedly increase this and i want to get the clutch right in the first place... opinions please on what would be best?

its going to be a fairly hardcore drift car, so the more agressive the better :)

I have an XTD 6 puk in my JZX100 Chaser that was 326bhp at the fly when it was mapped. They are supposed to be absolutely shit clutches, but the one in my car has lasted nearly a year, and has done a few drift days, and had plenty of hard road work. It's a pain in the hole in traffic, but bites like a mother fucker when needed. At the moment the biting point is right at the end of the clutch pedal travel, so i'm sure it's set to explode any day now. Probably today because I've talked about it. :smash:

Since you are going to up the power of your JZ, then you'd probably be better off going for a more proven brand.

If there's two of you interested, we can look into getting a double sprung SPEC stage 3+ clutch kit for you.
We had great results with the single sprung one in the Chaser, and that had a lighter than stock pedal. So if you go for the double sprung it should be like the ultimate clutch without having to go into twin plate territory.
I'll see what price they work out to :)

Stage 3+ are the bizz!! Ive a new one sitting at home to go into the Chaser!!!

@ Phil, will you pm me a good price on a spec stage 3+ with and without fly......do ye have any laying around second hand?

ok, cool :)
This would work out best for everyone if we do it as a group buy, so we'll work out some details and post up here shortly....

i have just fitted a new clutch on my 90 last week. but dont mind have a extra one to stand-by.
price please.

I've got this baby in my '90. Noisy, aggressive, but a great clutch.
And can handle my 511 hp / 504 Nm with ease.

It's a bit harsh for a daily driver, but I still do it LOL

That's what was in my old car, mega bit of kit but for a road car :smash::smash:

Fitted the DW Spec & flywheel to the new build Soarer & I was amazed that the clutch pedal feel was lighter than stock!
