1jz or 2jz is is200?

Nice to be here. I did some searching and still and decided which engine to go with. My problem is
my transmission is on it way out, cant get reverse some days. And i cant find a replacement tran here in South American but I price it in the UK for $240 + 1500us shipping My car is is200.
So i am thinking i can pickup a 1jz or 2jz engine and transmission from the us for under $1400us. But the big question is which one to go for 2jz-ge (non turbo) or the talk about 1jz-gte ( turbo) and which 1 will be a easy fit cost wise. Not looking for power just something to get me around daily.
Has anyone here did a engine swap in is200 like this? i want to know what to expect?
I will want to go with the transmission and run everything stock and get everything working on my cluster.
 
1jz turbo why on earth would you go for the non turbo, if you get the engine mounts from the is300 it will be bolt in, i dont think you will get an R154 box for the price you have stated.

I will like to use the stock auto transmission that come with the engine my biggest concerns is A/C and cluster gauges? or just go down the rout of just buying the parts i will to run the 2jz-ge from the is300 (from Ebay) and bolt them on in a act of desperation. i don't want to go manual box. My wife uses the car too.

Also, Just go with a manual box, your mrs needs to learn how to drive stick ;)
 
Today i had a chat with the guy who will be doing the electrical work, he said my car use multiplex communication so i should get a ECU with multiplex communication.
I know some of you guy here have did this before with a after market ECU but had any one did this with the stock ECU that came with 1jz engine??
I see on ebay CROWN MAJESTA JZS171 and 1JZGTE Supra Chaser engine and ECU. how will i know which on of these use multiplex?
 
I was hoping you guys jump in here and say what bits and pieces I will be needing.
Do I need a front sump engine? What about the mounts? Which is better for my is200 VEROSSA JZX110 or from the CROWN MAJESTA JZX171? Or can anyone say where can I find this info?
 
Im confused. Why dont you just buy a 1jz gte with box and ecu and just swap it in? The mounts work fine as far as I know.

Also, have you seen Pete_the_russians build thead yet? Go read that first. From page 1 to the end. There is ALOT of helpful information for swapping a 1JZ into an Altezza.
