[1jzgte non-VVTi] Can I use a VVTi crankshaft?

Hello. My 1j needs a lower end rebuild. Can I use a VVTi crankshaft safely on a non-vvti 1j? If not, what would I need to do to ensure its ok?

The crankshaft should be the same of both types. Since the only difference as far as I know from the VVTi is the timing stuff.
 
They sell aftermarket crankshafts that go for the 1JZ VVTi and non VVTi, so there aren't any difference between them.
