350Z. Advice required from other owner drifters.

After spending the last 10 years messing around with old Jap turbo's (predominantly R32's and S13's) I've bought a 350Z thinking that a newer chassis, engine and drivetrain will no doubt be a better place to start from than a CA S13!

My main questions are about the suspension, diff and lock.

This will hopefully be a budget build so please keep that in mind with your suggestions / advice.

LSD: I have a factory LSD (I've only ever run welders previously), is the factory LSD actually a decent unit or is my gut instinct right and should I just weld it?

Suspension: So the rear has separate shocks and springs so are there any issues (camber etc) i need to look out for when fitting coilovers?

Lock: What am I looking at for decent lock on a budget? I've not got the cash for a full geomaster or wisefab so whats the deal? Same old spacers and stops cut or is there some way to get decent lock for little payout!?

I've no idea about Zed's so any knowledge based evidence is seriously welcome.

Thanks

Thanks. That build escalated pretty quickly!
Looks like I'll do the basics first, weld the diff, fit a bucket seat and some offset rack spacers then take it out and see how she feels.

See how you get on with standard diff to start with, some lock up pretty good and welders have been known to cause driveshaft issues. I always wanted to put a 2 way onto mine but never got round to it, with extra lock I honestly dont think they need a lot else done to them :)

Okay then,

With regards to lock mods, what would you personally suggest?
I'm thinking offset rack spacers and the stops ground down / cut off and see how far that gets me?

Also, how do they cope with temps? Is it worth buying a larger alloy rad now before i start drifting it or do they cope quite well? What about an oil cooler?

Thanks
