I have a set of HKS Adjustable cam gears but now i need the cams to compliment them!!

I have a few bits done like a HKS Indution kit and HKS Manifold and full dragger but i dont know what cams to go for or what lift??

i dont want a real lumpy idle that cant be driven but i also dont want mild cams either as they wont be much different from stock??

any1 any proper advice??

Anything under 9mm lift means they will run on the stock head, and duration just depends where you want the power. 264/264 is a nice balance, 288/288 is peaky RPM's and harder to keep in the powerband (makes power to 8500-9000 if you want it to, im told) and 304/288 is even more peaky and can potentially make power to way over 9000rpm.. But ofcourse it all depends on how your ECU is tuned with the bigger cams...

Cheers Chris,

I was told that 264in/272ex or 278ex was a good balance also??
I dont want a powerband where i need to get her up to 6000 before she starts rolling!! i just want to free her up from all the stock crappy parts!

I have a few bits to go into it like an Apexi SAFC-II and this Sard rising rate fuell thing a ma jig but as i said i just want a nice bit of power without goin crazy on it as the 16v isnt gonna stay long term anyway...

so basically a 264inlet cam and a 264-278ex without exceeding a 9mm lift!
what if you fit a thick Toda or HKS head gasket to raise the compression also freeing up more valve clearance?? ;)

on a stock 4age 264s are ideal..unless you want to start playing with your internals..but for a nice powerband id say go for those..its what im putting in my 20v this year too....

Just out of intrest..have you installed you safc 2 yet..im tempoted to buy one but not sure yet?
