I have an A Frame to sell as I no longer have use for it. I have towed my Sierra on it a number of times and it has never let me down.

All parts work well and it is in a good condition.

It can be taken to pieces, with the use of a spanner and rachet so as to fit in the boot, and will fit in most tow cars.

It in my garden at Derby.

Yours for £100

I can say this is a good peice of kit and very much like new, he came and took away my sierra with it :(

good luck marty

What's the score on towing with one, as in max speed allowed etc and I take it the towed car has to be taxed?

i was under the impression they were only suposed to be used for recovery purposes.hence why you bung a trailer board on the back of your car.
i guess stiggy/pete barber would have just blagged there cars were 750kg or whatever the limit for an unbreaked trailer is .to tow your 180 etc.. this way you would need one of those dolly things that the AA etc,, have that lifts 2 of the wheels off the ground.
im mega tempted to just knock one of thse up but have shit luck and would get busted by johnny law.
i always though that the arms would smash up fmic pipes aero bumper etc..

I've got an A-Frame and I have a separate braking system that sits on the drivers seat and hooks over the break pedal, yes I realise it's pretty much useless after the first time the brake is depressed but it keeps it all nice and legal ;)

From the info I have gathered, by attaching an A frame to a car it turns the car into a trailer, so the car being towed doesn't have to have tax or MOT but does have to have legal tyres. By turning the car into a trailer you then have to comply with standard towing laws, 60mph, etc, etc.

As for the braking side of things, if its over 750kg it should be braked. My plan was to replace the hitch with a caravan one that compresses when you brake and pushes on a lever that pulls a brake cable, I was going to attach this to the handbrake cable of my sierra, as it was no longer being used by the handbrake.

Gaz those dolly things are for recovery only and you are limmited to 30mph!!!

Hope that helps anyone considering it.
