Looking for any advice on building a 450bhp 1jz vvti. I'm looking into a precision 6262 for the turbo. FMIC,Downpipe,550cc injectors.

Just tyring to figure out a good place to start for my goal.

Hey mate, I realise no one has taken the time to reply.

I will start with a nice little list of upgrades for you. (if you havn't already made one)

- BFI which is a DIY intake mod with a nice High Flow panel filter from HKS for about $100 will future proof your intake system for 450BHP.

-Greddy FMIC kit is around $700 delivered as the stock side mount is quite restrictive with all new atleast 2.5" intake piping all round. DONT go buying those cheap ebay units waste of money the piping never fits.

-Greddy E-Manage Ultimate for fuel and injector timing and programing, the stock ECU will handle well up to about 14.5psi but will start leaning out fuel in an effort to maximise economy this can cause knocking and really end up costing you. I choose the E-Manage over an apexi SAFC as it can help out with ignition timing and controll your bigger injectors and fuel pump which you will need to do later on.

-3" turbo back exhuast with a high flow CAT or straight through.

-550CC Injectors, The VVT-i's have top feed injectors so its worth getting a good HKS Top feed fuel rail as well.

-Walbro 400 LPH fuel pump. (intank is better as there is less noise) otherwise bosch make some good alternatives that are very quiet.

now for the big ticket item. you will need a good quick spool turbo & manifold. if you choose to highflow your current CT15B you will reach your 450bhp and not have to change anything else (manifold etc) cost you around $1400 for a good job with a 20G compressor and ceramic coated housing for heat issues. Driftmotion is a good website for these engines lots of cheap gear. As with a new precision 6262 you wont have it spool up as quickly, it wont be as responcive and it will need a new manifold/dump pipe for top mount.

With this you should be safe for future upgrades up to around 550BHP only ahving to change turbo and exhaust manifold. DO NOT change intake manifold will give you issues with your ECU. BIG TIME I dont know why the VVT-i's just hate it!

Best Regards Brent.
