Hi guys,
Great forum you have here. Just had a question that I thought some of you may be able to help me with: I'm currently teaching some of my friends to drive, and was wondering at what stage they should be at before I teach them how to drift. This might seem like a strange question, but the truth is that I've been drifting for so so long (hence my username) that I can't remember at what stage of my learning to drive I actually learned to drift! Drifting has become so intuitive to me that it seems second nature.
I know that I should teach them the basics first - finding the biting point to get the car rolling, steering, braking etc etc. But how far after this would you recommend I teach them the art of the drift?
As for my car, she's a 1 litre Kia Picanto with some sick modified tyres and a raised chassis to catch that perfect corner burn.
One of the people I'm teaching has also asked me if there's any good reading that he can do before the lessons about drifting. If any of you could recommend any books on the art of drifting and the technical terms and techniques, I'd also be grateful!
Thanks a lot in advance guys.
