To Spread some light
Toyota South Africa never imported the 86 as a legal car they brought in two of which one was written off the other was owned buy a guy in cape town bought by some one from subaru, then modified and sold on to some one out of south Africa.
So essentially i dont know what u going on about cause there are no 86's in South africa as it stands and they were never imported in south Africa.
If you want a good one i suggest making sure and absolutely sure the car is a minter and paying good money for it .
Like from carland86.com
or from the Japanese auctions.
They rust in the weirdest of places and are hard to fix once the rust starts, its harder to get body panels now for them too.
And other parts are also becoming very very dear for them .
Using it for drifting would be ideal as i imported one in zimbabwe and used it for a bit but the rust got to me and i hated it, i love clean cars simple.!!!!
So in saying that get a clean car and u will enjoy they handle like a go kart on rails , and they are a pleasure to drive the most enjoyable car i have ever owned .
They are amazing and are so composed but dont abuse it or it will bite u in the Ass.
They need a quick thinking driver with good feel for the wheel, u need to learn to drive the car essentially.
So Get one dont waste time bring it home and give me a shout once u have it i have some parts for it as well that u might need when it comes.
Cheers
Adam
