ae86 power steering ??? :S

hi guys me and my dad have seen some ae86's with power steering and were wondering where we can get it and how much money does it cost to convert a standard rack to powersteering ?? :confused:
 
Hi there,

As far as I know you need the powersteering rack too as its different ratios. You'll also need the p/s pump and drive belt.

I'm sure somebody will come along with a more complete answer soon.
 
Dont get P/S on an AE86!!

I have it on my Levin and its clutter"!" just like A/C!!

If you want those luxurys buy urself a lexus....belts are we cut on my car... :thumbs:

I disagree.. I love the PS on mine, makes my life alot easier compared to my old Non PS Levin. Wouldnt go back to Non PS unless i had no choice.

Just cutting the belt isn't a solution, you need the non PAS rack.

Why don't Minishonk and Old Skool hook up and swap the bits over? AE86 heritage bringing people together :dermal:

Can't say I've ever thought about needing PAS on an AE86. Mine's pretty light on it's feet... I found RCA's make steering a little lighter as does wheel choice.

Maybe you are just a weakling Paz? Just think of all that power you are robbing from your poor 4AGE, and all that nasty fluid and pump and piping...
 
I think mine is just right without power steering, I actually think it would be too light with PS on it.

I would fit it if I had a turbo'd or supercharged lump though, since they can add a fair bit of weight, but on a stripped out rally car I really think you're better off without it.

I alway thought my non PS is fine its pretty light aslong as your moving. At Bovingdon it span round fast enough to snap my little finger

I always wondered why Paz loves it so much maybe one day I will try it and need it badly.

but our car is used in very tight lanes :smash: and after 200 mile the driver starts to feel that the car doesnt have power steering :dermal:
