For Sale:
Honda Prelude (3rd Gen) B20A
Grey
38,700 miles
MOT and Tax Nov 09
This car was owned by an elderly gentleman until he was persuaded to get a smaller car. The car moved to a dealership and was eventually sold to the owner previous to me who took his shoes off to drive it! I bought it as a weekend toy and used it to commute to and from work in the summer. It was garaged over last winter and didn't come out much. I'm selling as i've just moved house and no longer have a garage to store it.
I have the original owners manual and a few other bits that came with the car from new.
Exterior:
Overall the car is in excellent condition as you'd expect from the milage.
There are a few very minor dings and scratches most of which you wouldn't notice unless you knew where to look.
The sills are in excellent condition and the arches are as new.
The underside is very very clean.
The car has never been welded or damage repaired.
The paintwork is brilliant with no laquer damage or fading.
I cannot stress enough how solid this car is.
Unfortunatly the car was driven into when stationary and shunted into the vehicle in front a few months ago and as such the front and rear bumpers don't sit as well as they should. I never got round to removing and refitting them or sourcing replacement ones. I have taken pictures of the inside of the boot and under the bonnet to show there is no damage to the shell. I image it would be possible to reshape the existing brakets or source new ones to rehang the bumpers properly.
The drivers side rear light cluster and centre panel (for the number plate) were damaged in this incident as well but everything works as it should all brake lights, reverse lights etc.
The pop-up head lights pop-up and retract as they should although the driver's side bumps on the plastic trim sometimes due to not fitting as well as it used to.
The light on this side has also had some water getting in and caused a bit of corrosion to form on the inside of the lens.
There are a few 3rd Gens around at the moment for circa £300 which would give you all the bits you need.
The windscreen has a small chip.
Interior:
The interior is in as new condition with no rips or tears.
The seat bolsters are unworn and the interior is unmarked.
Everything works as it should.
I doubt the back seats have ever been used.
Electric front windows, electric sunroof, heater, powersteering, remote boot release and fuel filler cap release.
I have the original Honda cassette deck for sale with the car.
All the speakers are Honda units and the electric ariel works as it should.
Wheels and tyres:
The wheels have the original Honda trim although the lacquer is peeling.
The front tyres are very good.
The rear tyres are excellent.
Engine:
2.0 12v petrol manual.
The engine bay is very good condition.
Everything is standard, airbox, manifold etc
There is a full stainless exhaust system from the manifold back built to the original standard specification (over £500) that has been on the car for less than a year.
The drivers side rear caliper is sticking and has worn the pad down. I have free'd the piston up so the vehicle is drivable and will supply a repair kit and new piston (£50 ish) with the vehicle along with some new rear pads (£20 ish) at no extra cost. The vehicle is driveable but this would need to be done fairly soon.
Summary:
Bad:
Bumper and lights damage.
Sticky rear caliper.
Chip on windscreen.
Good:
Virtually as new and very original 3rd Gen prelude that drives and runs beautifully.
Mint condition interior.
Very solid body with no welding or damage.
pre bumper prang:
