I have a pair of Avon ZZ3 235/45 ZR17 (94Y Rated) tyres, virtually as new with 6mm of tread.

They were £212 new, popped them off my BMW BBS rims that now live on an E30 M3 requiring less rubber.

£60 the pair... & can fit on Sunday at Birmingham Wheels.

Doh. I hate it when stuff I need comes up at bad times :(

Sorry Mr. Lee, timing was never my forte... I could always save 'em for ya and you can drive down from Crawley for fitting at a later date?

They are mint so it would be a shame to sell them to a chav-spec local for their nasty cast alloy Smiths/Fox/Kahn wheels...

Yeah if thats cool, or I dont mind coming to get them either. Its juts my cars in the garage at the moment having the diff fitted so I cant get too far.

I want to go to wheels but its going to cost too much to drive the FD up there really.

OK mate, provisionally sold then? If so I'll take them out the van and lob 'em in the garage, since space is at a premium in the van at the moment.

You can come down here (about 40mins down the back roads) anytime to get them fitted or come to Terry's practice day in Aldershot on the 2nd of April.

Yeah thats cool. Ill definatly have them but need to really get my car back before I know when. 4 weeks so far and Im still not sure lol...

You do realise im probably going to put them on s-body scum though :p

Hahaha! I know, that's why I'm including the nails free with the tyres ;) .

OK then mate, they're yours (despite the application  )... but 4 weeks? Christ, what are they doing making a diff or fitting one? I hope the place is a gearbox/axle/diff specialist (?) since regular garages can very rarely do the set-up right.

Yeah its a gearbox place, which is actually why its taking so long as another place might have given it back by now bodged and wrong.

Basically I got this Nismo diff kit, but when they tried to fit it (which was after 1 day) found a problem with the output shafts being equal length when they should be offset (think it was that way round). It could of been put in like that which I think is how a few people on here have done it but the place didnt want to do it. Couldnt use the standard shafts either as they are different, and the problem since then has been working out what was required and mainly getting it. For some reason UK diffs require Auto shafts or something like that when going to the mech diff. I cant remember exactly as im not too good on this tech stuff but I think Alex is very familiar with diff codes by now.

Hope its back soon though. As much as I like driving the FD after so long of not using it I realise how expensive it is!

Out of interest, where is it? There's only two gear fettlers I know of down our way and that's Bexhill and Leatherhead... I need to find somewhere cheap for preload and lash set-ups.

Its not down here. I took it up to Mayurs (Silverstone) and let him sort it out using whatever place he normally uses. I wanted to take it somewhere that I knew had done a few, and im glad I did now.
