Trying to talk the guy into stripping it. If not how much do u recon its worth in this state as i would only strip it if i bought it and offer you lot most of the parts i dont need.

Im not after making money out of it but all the same i dont wanna be out of pocket either

So ideas please

Matt

Bloody hell.
Thats a bit more damage than the guy told me.
That has been hit very hard.
Not worth that much in my opinion because it all early stuff, little drive shafts and LSD, door and tailgate are useful maybe tank, engines are cheap any way. Did it miss the wheel completely?
I would say 500

There is alot of damage there as u can see. Its pushed the passenger side out of line completely and even looks like its twisted the front end of the car. What amazes me is how it managed to miss the bonnet as thats almost striaght. The slam pannel has been taken out fron underneath the bonnet. Weird.

Hes got it advertised for £1k ono which if it was repairable wud be bout right but i dont think thats gonna happen.

Does that mean mines all early stuff as its a b reg?

Thanks

Matt

Hi, Matt the parts are exactly the same as yours as this is an A reg, the front end only changed in 1986 C reg and above....

please bear in mind that the engine has only covered 61,000 miles, so its got to be worth more than an engine which has covered over 100,000....

i think it can be put on the road again if someone has the parts, but by breaking it for parts it will probably draw more money... As the LSD is worth good money, engine, gearbox, tailgate is untouched interior is also mint..

cheers

Maybe in the land of make believe :wack: Anyone who put that back on the road needs their head read. Imagine how much the structure will have been weakened by an impact of that strength :wack:

hi matt, yep its mine.... i also have an 1986 C reg forsale too, it advertised in the forsale section of this site.. headed 'FORSALE: Toyota Corolla GT AE86'

cheers

ae86

twinturboCH - i have seen cars with a lot more damage being put on the road.. this car was solid from the inner guard / chassis etc... theres no rot underneath the car.

Like i said if someone has parts or even an ae86 with rear damage then this is ideal,

it can be used as a Trackday car..

cheers

Uncle Rash, how could you kill such a mint goldie? I've only ever seen one gold one minter than that ;) ;) .

Fair play though, the 61k running gear is worth saving.

Problem is, it may be worth a grand plus in bits, but it's the hassle of getting it, recovering it, storing it and breaking it that makes it worth less as it is.

If you want to let it go for somewhere nearer £500, I'd be interested or there's always eBay.... it'll probably make over £4k like a few of the other shitters in the last few months with no t&t and plenty of rust.

Good luck with it and unlucky for killing it.

Will

i think it can be put back on the road.
yeah saw a few rusted ones up on ebay the other day. its shouldnt be a lot stronger than this or might be the other way round.
anyway buying that car at, say 800 quid.and spend like another 2.2 to 3k max.it will be a sweet car and probably running on boost.rather than getting a rusted one at 4k and its standard. just my 2p

A car crash is both static and elastic. If you know what stresses the rest of the shell was under when that took the hit (and I bet it hurt) they are only tacked together, thats why people strengthen them for rally. If rallying breaks welds and twists the shell, imagine what that does.

But I suppose you could just weld another front end on at the bulkhead, (and send it to IRL for 4k :D ) but I know I certainly wouldn't want to put that back on the road for shopping, let alone the track. And I am one pikey mofo. even if the shell was properly jigged. Have to re-align the suspension after every drift day! ***twiiiiiiiiist****

And low mileage lumps can be had cheap from AE82, AW11, AE92 (early)
and Japan! but that doesn't change the fact that I need bits to put mine on the road, so you have PM!

Yo Will,
Oh i'm well and truly gutted believe me - had big plans for it when i bought it...
It will be on ebay in a few days or so - Have had quite a few interested for parts but at the moment its to sell whole -
It is 3rd party damage so the car will not be going through Insurance and as it was my fault - i am out of pocket anyway so please dont take the pi55..
Can be A-framed if you want to save on recovery costs -

Cheers
p.s. offers by PM please -

so can i convince u to strip it instead of sell it mate as i could do with quite a few parts off of it

thanks

matt

sorry mate cant strip it yet as i need the space -
Why dont you and a few others get together and figure out who needs what parts and chip in to buy it..... better for all you providing you all dont need the same parts :D

I'll buy it and break it up for you's lot as long as Uncle Rash's price is right and it's worth my while doing it. It's a long and winding road (as Will Young says :dermal: ) to Bradford from doon here.

Ok then i'll start off here

Matt= Front window wipers, drivers side window winder mechanism, LSD, Rear Bumper, Trim from around the rear side windows, trim if seperate from inside edge near window of driver and passenger doors, passenger side indicator/side light.

There are a few other bits but only tiny lil things if i was there with the car i wud have.

I know its alot but im willing to put in my share of the money if anyone wants to join in

Matt
