Another Dutch S13 then...

DeBastaard

Keyboard-Drifter.
Since everyone here's starting a project topic, I might as well join in...

Bought the car last year (after Kenji drove/drifted it) around for a year or so.
It had some weird problem with the engine idle, after a long time of searching (couple of months) it happend to be the inlet gaskets that were gone.
That's fixed now, and the car ran great.

Since I Don't have any REAL drifting experience (Except for the huge parking lot practise), i happend to have crashed her :(
There's a topic somewhere in the Drifting Chat subforum about it. Anyway I was driving around, kicked the clutch and I spinned. Hitting a lamppost with my left headlight.
Damage isn't that bad (no chassis stuff has been bend or something), but the bumper/bonnet/fender and some braces are pretty FUBAR'ed.

At the moment she's in our garage, and we're fixing her up. We = Me & Brother.
Tomorrow i'm picking up spare parts from fellow SXOC members. That whole headlight area was bent downwards, and needs replacing... need to pay 75euro for that shit :(

Picking up a pre-facelift bumper, black bonnet etc. as well.

Last week i've happen to come by a pair of nice reclining Sandtler buckets from a gay belgium 'carstyling' forum for 300 euro :smokin:.
Yes, I Need reclining seats since this is my daily drive car, and i'm uber-tall, with even longer legs. Fixed bucket = shite then.

I'm going to fit my Saab intercooler as well. I've bought it from a sxoc member for 100euro, but the piping he made is crappy welded, and i'm going to make some proper piping.

The car's got the follow mods so far:
- Apex springs
- Volk GT-N Replica wheels (18x7.5), yes, gay sizes i know but they were on the car when i bought it!
- Blitz SUS intake.
- HKS Hi-Power air filter thingie.

Probably some more stuff but can't remember at the moment.

I've also bought a Stage 1 chip off ebay for the huge amount of 30euro's shipped... hehe!

It pretty much sucks ass that I've crashed the car as I was saving up for either DW suspension, or a Kaaz LSD :(
Ow well, guess it will take a little longer then expected then.

Here are some pics of the car in the better days..

It had some T1-S 225/35 tires, but they were a bit too skinny for my liking. Bought some Vredesteijn Ultrac's 225/40 when the rear tires were worn, and a week after that I got 4 T1-R's 225/40 nearly new for 300 euro. (They fill the arches up a bit more...).

Anyway...

Once i've got her on the road again, my plan is to go to a DriftSchool here in Europe to get some real practice. My plan is not to hit a lamppost again ...
And, once i've got the money i'm buying either suspension, or a 2way!
I'm saving up for a trip to Japan as well, so depending on the priorities at that moment the car might have to wait up a bit!

Any input is welcome of course :)

Oh yeah, here's a pic of the damage....... doesnt look to bad on the pic but the headlight part is totally bent inwards :(

Hi there m8.
IMO 18" looks maybe to big for drifting, also go first suspension, then LSD (if you already have VLSD).

Keep up and don't drift on streets. It's kinda bad.;)

Hehe tell me about it :p

The 18" where on the car when I bought it, they don't look too bad if i say so myself. But if I had to buy some wheels myself i'd go for some wide 17" i guess :)

good luck......Projects are good, seeing how everyone else progresses prompts you to get of the ass and do more work to your own car.....

This is true!! get on with the :smash: ing, :D

Yeah,

Big hammer comes into action tomorrow.

The sill where the left fender is attached to (on the upper side) is slightly bent inwards. We didn't know that so far, we just figured it out since we couldn't get all this shit into position.

It's a lot more work then we expected, but damn, are we lucky to have our own MIG welder and stuff, comes in very handy!

Ow well, let's hope we make some progress tomorrow as this car is pissing me off.... :(

Pics of today's work...

Part that we cut off some guys breaker-sx.
Check out the braces we made to keep it somewhat into place :smash:.

Welded..

It's still a bit bent innit?

PICT2847.jpg

Alright anyway... as I wrote above, we had to get it all back out again, since that sill that keeps the front left wing up is bent a bit. It needs to be pulled out by about 1cm. Then everything should be in place.

Bytheway,

Did you guys know, that the sizes nissan gives in the Service Manual are FAR from correct ??
We measured the side that wasn't hit/damaged in the crash, but Nissan is off by about 2cm !!

Hope the headlight and the bonnet are aligned correctly this time...

Getting there ... lol.

BTW, when looking at it from the front, it's just like my front-right wheel has loads more negative camber then the left wheel??

youve not bent any suspension arms or anything have you? cant imagine any reason why the two fronts would be different unless youve disrupted something during the accident?

Haven't hit anything except for the left headlight! And if something was bent, it should be the left wheel, not the right one ... weird innit?

I'd best get my car aligned again when she's fixed!! Need to do the left-rear as well. Waaaaaay to much positive camber on that wheel, and can't adjust the camber anymore...
