After giving up on my last S13 build as it was costing a fortune and going no where, i bought a BMW E36 323 which was pretty good until i had an argument with a big post and decided it wasn't worth repairing so i went back to a 13.
So this is what i bought, wasn't bad for the money but did come with its downsides:
- had been in storage for 6 years
- had a smallish hole in the chassis rail
- had pretty shot arches
- didn't run (very well)
- a locking wheel nut on every wheel with no key
- brakes didn't work
But considering the spec i still thought it was worth a punt.
As you can see from the pictures the modifications are pretty dated (steering wheel, big spoiler, pillar gauges) so all of these had to be changed.
The Spec list :
HKS forged pistons 1mm oversize
TRUST 1.2mm metal head gasket
HKS 264 high lift intake cam
444cc injectors
255Lph Fuel pump

Norris designs front mount intercooler and pipes
FSE power boost valve
Garrat T3 Turbo and modified manifold with braided oil lines
Norris designs dump valve
-31 Turbo actuator
HKS Hyper muffler with stainless steel Cat bypass (no cat needed)
HKS downpipe
Aquamist Water + Methanol injection system
Custom mapped chip to the car

300zx four pot calliper’s and larger disks + braided brake lines

Nismo oil filler cap
Greddy profec B boost controller allows setting turbo boost level from within the car and being able to switch between two settings with either a button on the front of unit or a steering wheel mount.
Blitz turbo timer
A piller pod with boost gauge and oil temp gauge (oil temp not plumbed in)
Momo steering wheel
Lowerd 35mm all round with stiffer KYB shocks
Front strut brace
Nismo rear subframe bushes
Stainless steel steering bush
Wrx style spoiler
Toad Ai606 cat 1 alarm/immobiliser with remote locking.
So first things first i had to get it going which didn't take too long, just the normal bits fresh fuel, fuel filter, oil filter, oil change and new spark plugs. This got it going but it was running really shit and wasn't idling right and seemed to be misfiring so i changed this.
annoyingly this didn't change anything so i bought 4 more of these:
and still no change, still nothing changed was thinking 'oh god ive bought another shitter'. but then i thought i should probably check the fuel pump when i was confronted with this.
so i took the fuel tank out and flushed it out with hot water and detergent which soon made it look better. I then put it back in the car with some fresh fuel and she ran like a dream until it warmed up and started to run like shit again.
so i bought some of these
It ran a bit better but nothing special, so i took the afm off and gave it a quick clean and fitted a HKS mushroom filter rather than the K&N already on the car and sorted it was running great.
So next step was to sort the body work, as you will see i am no expert at body work so i thought the easiest way so sort the arches was this.
as you can see the welding isn't perfect as i only have an arc welder which seems to do the job especially as they will be covered with over fenders which were won on eBay for a bargain and are on they way now, should be here by wednesday.
so thats the arches sorted ish so now for that hideous spoiler which turned out to be easy as it was only held on with mastic so i just pulled really hard and.....
despoilered so thats where i am now so tomorrows job is to clean up the boot and paint it and underseal the wheel wells.
