Pretty much self explanatory, I'm tempted to get my rims wrapped but surely the first kerb will shred it so is it worth having a go myself...
Any body tried it I'd be interested to see the results!
I've never heard of anyone trying to wrap wheels but search on youtube for videos about plastidip.
Plastidip always sparks mixed reactions within the motoring community of either love and hate but it seems like a pretty good idea to me - you spray the stuff on like paint but then can be peeled off if you want to change the colour. You can also add lacquers to it as an over coat which helps protect it too.
^^ Sounds pretty good to me, had a quick look on the web and seems to have some mixed reviews, but i might just give it a blast on my spare daily rims and see what happens...
I plastidipped my wheels, came out quite good and seems durable enough. Only problem is that it isn't smooth like paint but not noticeable from a slight distance
I wrapped the centre of one of my old Meisters, using vinyl that was meant to be used for printing. Even though it was the wrong material it was fine, though not as stretchy.
It does work, a guy on here was selling some Eurolines IIRC that had wrapped white centres.
Driving hard causes the brakes to get hot which causes the wheel to get hot which cause the wrap to shrink more, crinkle and just look generlly shitty, if it doesn't come off all together first.
yeah i wouldnt consider wrapping wheels unless your building a show car that doesnt actually move anywhere
less you forget wheels do rotate rather fast and get hit with stones/grit, go through heat cycles of cold to extreme heat. a bit of sticky vinyl isnt likely to stay on for long at all

Any vehicle wrapping requires going over afterwards to 'seal' the wrap, at 120 deg c, if the wheels weren't wrapped properly then brake dust would probably get in under the vinyl pretty soon. If done properly though I should imagine the vinyl would last fine. As long as it was the correct material for wrapping etc.
Same response to when a guy asked about wrapping his cam cover the other day. With the extreme temperatures each way it's likely to melt/deform, even after being sealed. Hydro dip is cool. Can get a 100% real carbon fiber effect.
