any particular reason you never see jaguars drifting?

anyone know of any reasons you never see any old battered jags at drift days? obviously theres not exactly going to be many aftermarket parts kicking about to say the least so if you were looking to progress you may be limited in what you can do to it, and i imagine they have quite "comfortable" suspension but other than that for basic dog of a drift car for a laugh all you need reasonable power and rear wheel drive,
been searching for a mate whos now after a cheap drift car and after looking at all the usuals iv started looking at more unusual stuff, you can get a rough 2.5 v6 manual x type for like £500, surprised iv never seen one just to be different

There used to be one drifted at Pembrey a lot too.

It's like a lot of cars, Merc etc, they're not on the bandwagon, people don't like to think for themselves, so they're rarely used.

For a reason most the time.
Merc/Jag tuning parts/knowledge are 10-1 on a 200sx/E36.

this. same with much else. i stick to nissans because i can get parts for them and know where shit goes. anything rwd will drift but no point making it hard for yourself just to be different

I can imagine they're like a boat to drift... No strengthening mods readily available, alignment adjustment mods.
They are cheap though, been watching a couple of manual X type V6s, both for about £800~

Whilst I know what you're getting at, theres a whole bandwagon for not being on the bandwagon.

Let people do what the hell they want. If they want to be able to follow every internet build tutorial and have another cookie cutter s13 then fine. If they want to convert a milkfloat to skid then so be it. Theres no right or wrong way, theres just degrees of effort, commitment and price.

v6 x types are 4wd so i'd take them off your ebay watch list. s types are rwd

See to me that one drifting looks cool as fuck!
And I agree about the bandwagon for not on the bandwagon as alot of people like to be different,
Still surprised you don't see more like.
If your after a cheap laugh they must be ideal
I found a manual 2.5 v6 for £595 and there was a minter with 50k miles on for 995! Only problem was the engine management light on but ran mint

Are you sure there all 4wd the x types?

the x type is a fancy mondeo. so either fwd ( 2.0 and diesel model ) or 4wd ( 2.5 or 3.0 v6 )

plus they are converted fwd with transverse engine iirc so pretty shit as a rwd car i would think

V6 at is fwd. you want the v8 that's rwd, but not cheap. Cheapest I've seen one was about 4k

and 4k is cheap!

There is 2 MG-ZT and Rover 75 V8 models the "slow" one is a 260 with errrr 260 bhp... they also did one with over 300 but not many were made (like single digits not many) there were plans for a 450bhp M5 beater but Longbridge closed before the only one on the production line could be finished

my geeky MG/Rover knowlage finally comes in handy on DW! yay lol

only other MG/Rover with RWD btw was the MGF/TF and from experiance I can think of nowt worse to spend money on trying to make skid lol
