Are drift drivers the best drivers in the world?

As questioned in the title, I'm interested to hear what people think. But I personally believe that drift drivers are the best drivers in the world, because having done both circuit racing and drift driving, I find circuit racing pretty boring and less challenging, but drifting requires you to get as close as possible to being out of control and crashing the car without actually crashing the car, and I believe the skill required to do so far exceeds the skill required to drive the car up to ( but not beyond ) the limits of grip ( as in pretty much every other form of motorsport ).

Disclaimers:- I am aware that posting this here may be biased towards people who drift, and I am also aware that there may be people who are very capable drift drivers who chose to compete in some other form of motorsport purely by choice, but I'm interested to hear your comments on the subject.? What do you say?

I would say rally drivers are tbh, they deal with a multitude of surfaces at flat out speed, often with just some gezza shouting which way to turn next

Rally by a mile

All techniques imaginable, on all surfaces, in all weathers.

Circuit driving success in competition has far more to do with racecraft than just outright technique.

Drifting is a pikey bunch of geezers, some with too much money, having a bit of a laugh !!

I would agree, rally drivers are top. They are the best in all fields. Put them in a drift car, single seater, stock car etc and they will excel. The same can't be said about other types of drivers in a rally car.

Just look at how well Sebastian Loeb has done in other forms of motorsport and then for example compare how well any F1 drivers have done in WRC.

+1 for rally drivers.

Also, I'd say top circuit racers are also being close as possible to losing control but holding back enough to not crash. And circuit racing isn't just about getting to the end, you are pushing for times, sometimes trying to shave off milliseconds from previous runs, meaning precise braking to the limits every time.

At the end of the day they are all different, and require different skills. But rally drivers do it all

This reminds me of a video put up on here a while ago - it began with a clip of Ayrton Senna talking about getting close to God while qualifying at Monaco, followed by a clip of Shane Lynch saying 'Just stick it in the door'
Sums it up for me.
