Are there any drift tournaments that don't require a rollcage?

Hi, I'm reasonably new to the British scene and looking for some information on events. I've got plenty of experience drifting 86s and JZX90s in NZ. Now over here I've got a reasonably well sorted S14 that I've skidding up at a few trackdays at Lydden Hill/Smeatharpe etc. and I'm looking to start upping the level of my drifting. Are there any tournaments that I can enter without requiring a rollcage? Alternatively what is the best entry level competition to get involved with?

Cheers

Rob

You mean who's stupid enough to operate a tournament without even the most basic of safety requirements??
Who's stupid enough to operate a track where competitions don't even have the most basic of safety requirements??

If there's no twinning, why not? Less dangerous than a normal practice day.

Lots of sprint events etc don't need a cage either for the same reason.

If you want to up your game, I'd suggest more practice days.

Competitions are just going to cost a shit load of money for very limited track time. If you want to practice twinning just do it with some mates

I did Outlaws this year and that is decent seat time in fairness, and loads of fun.

With the cage question, there aren't any comps with twinning where you don't need a cage as far as I'm aware. However, I had a fairly low speed impact on a small track which involved the front end of another car, and my driver's door (my fault, I washed out and stopped mid corner) and I was so glad of the door bars in my roll cage as I think I'd have been pretty hurt if they weren't there. Put me off doing any twinning without a cage and door bars.

EDIT: you going to Smeatharpe tomorrow?

Guess that's a no then. Just about to buy another car to replace the S14 and can't justify buying a track car/trailer/tow car when I may only be in the UK for another year.

No, missed the Smeatharpe entry by a day and missed out. Shame seeing as I'm only in Honiton.

To the r3k1355 guy: Lydden Hill seems quite happy to throw 23 beginners out on a tiny track and let them cause carnage with one another. It was like being on the M6. Almost no cages in sight either. Thought it wouldn't be out of the question to have an event without cages after seeing that kind of chaos.
