Hey up - got my own little rig at home and recently bought a gaming laptop so I'm on Assetto Corsa now more and more, getting the winter practice in!

Anybody else play? I've managed to wrangle this evening to myself to play so hopefully find some decent guys online to twin with!

This is my rig...

I need to dig my wheel out again and give it another shot to see if my TV just had too much input lag and thats why I couldn't drive on it.

OP how are you finding a joystick for a handbrake? A mate of mine has AC and no handbrake currently, I suggested that to him until he buys something specific. We’ve tried setting the space bar as a handbrake but it wouldn’t allow controls from the wheel and keyboard simultaneously for some reason.

It’s challenging but quite rewarding when you pull off a few corners in a row!

You can set it up with the keyboard Floyd, that's how I was rocking mine.

I play, not often though as setting the wheel up is a ball ache, if some people are on I will get it hooked up for a night or two.

@thyfartismurder - i'm on a work PC so can't go onto Steam lol, whats your ID?

@prblmslvrs - I've had that problem before when I ran it from my laptop onto my front room TV(48" or something stupid) and there was LOADS of input lag, but went back to laptop screen and it was fine - get on it man! Be good to get some virtual laps in

@counteract - love it mate, works a treat, the above photo is OLD, and since then theres another platform just above the gearstick that my joystick sits on and is cable tied to, and its solid and works perfectly

@chopaholic - Luckily we have a spare room lol so my setup just stays in there ready and waiting! I reckon we should arrange a night or something, i'd defo be up for that, my biggest problem so far is trying to find people to twin with, most online just seem like morons that love crashing into anything and everything!

Hey, been practicing on PS4 but I think I'm going to get a pc next year.
PS4 is a bit limited with tracks and cars also setting up a handbrake is a pain.

i just need to get a wheel and pedals and ill be sett for it, i have tried with a controller and it just doesn't go down very well

PC with Mods is the way forward

Steering wheel wise, if your budget isnt massive, go for a Logitech G29/G920 - same wheel only difference is one is compatible with PS4, other is Xbox One. Both are PC Compatible.

i take it the g920 is the xbox one... i think ill get that one ill practice before slamming into every one... controller on assetto sucks so bad.. i got a few different cars and different tracks but im normally on minami trying to get better... i have no idea how to add people as friends on it, is it just my steam name?

Minami is fun with friends lol

ye just add Steam ID - Mine is fusi0nc

There is/was a good community on Steam and Discord called Grass Roots Drift. They ran their own server etc. Was really good bunch of people on it and had some great trains going

Got a playseat set up, but need to have a 'hydro' handbrake, I'm tired of using the flappy paddles haha. Is yours just a generic flight stick programmed to be the handbrake as an axis?
