Now my beloved R33 has moved on I can finally get a start on my new project I have been planning for some time...

LS3 V8 350Z :wack:

It's a 54 plate shell, with the engine and most of the interior out ready for me to get stuck in.

I've kept the LS3 6.2l V8 from my R33 to drop in, this time with a few more horsepowers and lb.ft :)

The plan is to have it ready for next year but have a very long list of things to do and want to make sure everything is done right without cutting corners.

I have already started cutting the unwanted metal work out of the back of the car. The next steps will be remove all of the sound deadening, fully seam weld the shell and fit a multi point cage to strengthen it all back up again before I start to fit the engine and new suspension parts.

Pics of all this to follow very shortly.

Stay tuned for updates on here and on my facebook page Ian Bizz Phillips Drift Page

OK so as promised here are some pics of the work done so far ......

Carpets out

Now the big job of removing all of the spot welds to get the section out behind the seats and the rear strut brace

My helper working hard

Got bored of drilling spot welds so just cut this bit out

Starting to get bigger

Looks a bit cleaner

Rear strut brace gone :)

Last piece above the fuel tank gone

Pile of scrap is pretty high now

Then just wanted to take off some easy bits so doors, wings, slam panel and bonnet came off

Next will be the dashboard and wiring harnesses so all the sound deadening can come off and the seam welding begins :)

Yeah I've had a good read of this thread when I was first thinking about doing my build. His is pretty nice but I'm not going to be going down the Sikky route for the engine mounts. The only thing I might be interested in from them is their shifter. Just depends on where I can get mine to end up

Nice, loved your r33 so this should be even better.

erm, one little question, do you have the wiring loom from the VQ35DE still? I REALLY need a z33 AFM pigtail, thats all! PM if you're willing to sort for beer money! cheers

Thanks man :)

I don't have the engine wiring loom as it went with the engine but I'll give a mate of mine a call for you and see if he has a rubbish harness with this still on it that we can get across to you

Thanks, that would be really awesome if he did!!! currently my AFM wires are held on with duct tape, hopes and dreams.

Nice one bizz. Give us a shout if you need a hand one night :) i remove sound deadening for tesco tea bags and hobnobs! Have you decided where your getting the cage done yet?

Subscribed, I wanted to stick an LS in a 350 for my next car a couple of years back. Never looked into it seriously though and don't have the money anymore. Looking forward to seeing this progress

Not doing bad mate, been busy with work and a new house so havn't been doing much car stuff for a few years. Got a caged FD on the drive so will probably get out a bit more soon.
