Bmw 316

hey guys looking into getting my first skid car and looking at what i could afford to insure it looks like im limited to e36 316s and the cheapest of all to insure is a estate would this have a enough poke to get it sideways with a few basic mods like collies and poss a hydro

what do you guys think no rush as in the proccess of saving for it but thought id have a look and at the min insurance is killer on anything else at 17

cheers guys

You'll have a hard time learning in a 316 in the dry on public roads.

With a welded in the wet I can't see it being that hard!

cheers guys silver zx no street seshs for me dont wanna lose my licence fair enough stav yeha its the only thing i can afford that isnt rape but it still 2500 for the insurance but cheaper than anything like a mx 5 which is around teh 4000

£2500!? Those were the days! :P

Have you considered all angles?

Old Merc's, Sierra's, Omega's, Volvo's etc?

You might be suprised..

its definately worth looking at something different and old, you might get something on a classic policy.

this. estates and 4 doors tend to be the best value not to mention a better wheel base for drifting (longer usually)

I'd rather not drive than spunk 2.5k on insurance, frankly.

I used to be happy to pay 1500quid, but on a good car. 2.5k on a pile seems retarded.

Quotes are always 5k and spastic shit at the start, but make some effort and get everyone beating everyone elses quotes and that same car will probably end up less than half of that.

If your insurance is rape money, don't just compare the meercat etc, you need to put some proper effort in, cheap insurance isn't handed to you on a plate.

yeha stav most of those are from compare the merkats and go compare but i have been trying to find teh right sorta car to coem allong to have a call to one of my dads insurnace broker friend

seen a s13 forsale at teh right sort aproce to might call up the guyand see whats the best quotes he can do me if i can get the car teh right price

don't matter who's a broker or a friend, you'll need to ring around to get the best price. ring one, get a price, ring the next and they will beat that quote, and go round and round and round all fucking day until nobody can beat the best quote.

my first 3-4 cars had initial quotes of 5k+, and none of them I paid more than 1500 by the end of it.

just need to put in the effort.
