It’s come to that time to decide if to keep my E28 or sell it on to someone who will do more with it than I will anytime soon.
It is a 1982 525i the body is in good condition pretty rust free there is some in the drivers door but I have another spare. It’s been sprayed with rattle cans in matt black and it has peeled off in places showing the original colour which is salmon silver (faded to pink) and off the chrome. No tax or test.
It has M535i bumpers front and back, and I have a boot spoiler to fit, the car looks a bit tatty but it’s a good solid base to build an awesome car.
The engine is a 2.5 m30 lump that runs but some of the rubber pipes ECT have perished over time.
The exhaust has been cut and now is side exit just in front of the driver’s rear wheel.
It has a Getrag 265 gearbox with removable bell housing (not a dog leg)which can handle up to 700bhp (I’ve been told) with a new clutch fitted 200miles ago and LSD out of an auto so it’s a 3.07 ratio crap for speed but works well.
It’s currently fitted with 16 inch m3 contour reps with toyo proxy tyres.
The interior and standard beige and the front seats are tatty.
The car is a bit tatty but it’s such a good base car to build something really retro different to have a laugh in.
I also have a large amount of spares that come with the car.
I have a spare M30B34 3.5 liter engine out of a scrap M535i I have the engine hasn't been started in a few years.
Bell housing, fly wheel and parts to convert the 3.5 to fit the manual box.
Full engine wiring loom and ecu's one ecu from an alpine B9.
Spare standard open diff ready for welding and driveshaft’s.
17 inch alpine reps with tyres
14 inch standard alloys with good tyres
Grooved discs and spare front brake calipers with goodridge hoses
A box full of other engine parts (oil filter housing, intake pipes ECT)
I do also have a scrap worthy M535i with most of the bits still on it for a parts car.
As you can see I have all the bits to build a really cool different fun car.
It will need to be trailered away.
I had plans to fit the 3.5 motor and make a fun track and daily drifter but as normal no time to put into it at the moment and I’d rather see it out being used and abused not sat wasting away on my drive.
I quickly wrote this at work and i will try to get some pics up as soon as poss. pm me and I can email or text some.
I’d be interested in swaps or swap and cash my way, I’d like to get a e30 325i or e36 325i / 328i or anything interesting really but not a stripped out car as the wife and kid need to fit somewhere
I’m looking for £3000 for everything, I kind of testing the water with it as I’m still in 2 minds to keep it or not but for the right money or the right swap I will let it go. Any other questions please ask as I’ve probably forgotten something .
