BMW E30 325i drift and track car

Well, today seems to be the day of selling E30s, so I thought I'd join in too :D

I have decided after thinking long and hard to sell my E30 325i track/drift car. It is a great car for either track or drift use, I’ve spent a lot of money on it but have decided to move onto something else. It has been looked after very well by both me and all previous owner, as the service book bulging with receipts will prove!

It has done 177,000 miles but don’t let that put you off, as the engine pulls hard and will rev all day. Combined with the suspension bits I’ve replaced, it is a very solid and fast car to drive. The brakes are good, hauling the car up to a stop nicely, and they feel much better now I’ve replaced the fluid and brake lines and taken the slack out of the servo linkage – the handbrake also locks the rear wheels brilliantly once the pads are warm (or if you give it a firmer tug!). The gearbox has also benefited from the Z3 shifter, it snicks into place very nicely now. The front Bilstein shocks and Powerflex bushes are brand new and were professionally put in less than 50 miles ago, and have absolutely transformed the feel of the car. The car is also completely stripped and very light, sub 1000kg which is rare for an E30, which helps to make it faster and more nimble.

It is MOT’d and taxed till September, so its ready to drive away and drift! Insurance is cheap too, I’m 23 with 0 NCB and got insured on a limited mileage classic policy with all mods declared and track day cover for £230!

I entered the Teeside round of Eurodrift a few weeks ago and finished 7th out of 15 cars in the Amateur class. I'd like to think if the diff had been working properly, and if there hadn't been a complete chimp behind the wheel, the carcould have finished higher. Cheers to Doristars for the photos :worthy:

Yours sucks buy mine :D :wack:

looks dam cool mate... turst me i know the effort involved on actualy getting to this spec :D

Good luck with the sale, and real men buy touring's :D

HAHAHahahaa

Insurance was from HIC, they absolutely love it. Wish I'd bought a touring too, they are definitely more manly and pimpish. Having said that, yours sucks, buy mine instead :smash:

Real men deck there cars ;) lol

Love were the hydro is, was the same as i intended to do mine.... as stock hand brake is doing nothing but park it :D

What do you think of the billy suspensino.... don't know to get them or some spax ?

I've heard mixed reports about the Spax, some say that they're great for the price, others say they are load of old rubbish - but the Billies are awesome, loads of grip up front as long as you use the right tyres. I went from fucked old M-tech shocks up front and virtually nothing left of the bushes at the rear, to new Billies at the front, poly bushes all round and H&R anti roll bars (which will be for sale soon if you are keeping your Tourer  ).

It was almost a religous experience taking it around crail for the first time :dw:

And thats just the bottletops making it look high, its plenty low at -60mm! I also have 1 set of BBS crosspokes with great tyres, 1 set of 2xBBS cross-spokes and 2 TSW cross-spoke rip offs that look exactly the same (1 has a flat tyre, don't know if its a puncture or just flat) that suit it much better :D

the pictures of mine is on 16in 205/55R16 so mine must be like million mm drop :D haha

Yeah i'll defo be interested in teh anti roll bars fella... only yesterday was i saying to nick how badly the E30 needs uprated antirollbars.

I may try the billys out... as i want a progressive setup.

THanx dude, :D

EDIT: Car now comes with an LSD instead of a welder - I'd planned to remove the LSD as I thought it was worn (the inside wheel was spinning during drifts), but I've realised this is because of the locking characteristics of the diff rather than it being worn. The LSD is great for road and track use, really helping to gain traction coming out of corners, but if you intend to use the car for drifting, I'd reccomend either shimming up the diff or swapping it for a welded diff (you can sell the LSD on for £250-300!).

Yeah the LSD isn't great but did the job enough at Teesside.

Car is cool, buy it! Good price for a 325i, let alone with this spec :D
