BMW E36 328 advice

I am soon to own a E36 328 as my first drift car, the car comes with a hydro, welded diff, coilovers and plenty of spare wheels. The 2.8 will be freshly fitted but I am wondering what diff I am best running and what I can do for easy power gains. Any advice is appreciated really.

M50 manifold and Big bore throttle body.

3.0 M3 diff will give a better ratio so acceleration will be quicker, but aside from that and losing weight there isn't a great deal you can do.
