Commie bastard
I have a few questions about BMW diffs.
I figured out I want to fit M5 LSD to my e39, since it's most pain-free/cheap solution, aside welder. Are M5 diffs 2way, 1.5way or 1way?
I believe that stock lock is 25%, which is abit weak. I am sure I can add a friction plate per side. Do i need to add a floater discs too (shiny little bastards)? Will any machining to the covering plate will be needed, since we're increasing thickness of plates?
I am sure I read here (on DW) that you can just add new discs and rebuild it back.
I did a little web search and it came up with this
How to Replace LSD Diff Clutch Discs - The Unofficial BMW M5 Messageboard (m5board.com)
Which is not answered any of my questions fully.
Any info will be appreciated.
