Got a apexi dual camber bov on my car but it doesnt seen to work the sound seems to come from the the induction kit iv tried altering the nut and bolt on the back of it but still nothing any ideas?

not actually sure will be checking this first just wondering if there any other faults it could be, where sould i take the vacum from?

Put your hand over the exit of the dump valve and give the car a good amount of revs, brmmm, brrrm brrrm style. If the dump valve opens at all then it sounds like youve just got too stiff a spring in it. If it doesnt open at all then check the vacumn line is connected to the inlet manifold somewhere, or t-pieced off a line that is connected to the inlet manifold.

dont think its movin at all so ill have to look into the vacum pipe, am i ok to still give the car some boot i actually like the dumpin sound its makin out the induction kit but its not good is it?

The sound your hearing is the turbo stalling, also known as chatter. There are varying views as to whether this is good or bad for the car. Personally i dont think its particularly good as it can damage the turbo but other people run their car without a dump valve and have had no problems. But for a short time and at relatively low boost it shouldnt be a prob. Is the car running ok and boosting correctly? If so i wouldnt have thought it would be a boost leak. Check the vacum (sp?) and take a pic if your still not sure.

Hope this helps.

ps is the bov second hand or new?

cheers tom the dv was on the car when i got it but had a new engine put in so may be the garage got pipes missed up the car its self runs fine

just wondering about the condition as ive had a couple of second hand ones that have rusted or stuck shut. bit of wd40 and a light tap free them up. as i said just check the vacum lines tomoro.
