Company History
1981: BRIDE Company is founded for the production and sales of BRIDE brand vehicle seats for motorsports. GT, the original reclining seat, is announced.
1982: EX, the reclining seat more suitable for motorsports, is announced.
1983: The company’s logo, BRIDE, is announced.
1985: Gradation cloth with the logo BRIDE is adopted for all seat models and which is announced. PRO, BRIDE’s first reclining seat for auto racing, is announced.
1986: UNI series, the comfortable seat with net cloth for motorsports, is announced. PRO-R series, the full bucket seat for motorsports, is announced. CAM series, mountable to small cars, is announced. NOVA, luxury genuine leather model, is announced.
1988: PROS series, evolved from PRO, which is the reclining seat for auto racing, is announced.
1989: BRIDE Company is incorporated as Tees Company Limited.
1990: BASIS, the comfort-oriented reclining seat, is announced. Super low position seat rail is developed jointly with Bertrand Faure (current Faurecia). Seat rail S type is announced. ZETA, the racing-dedicated model for winning a circuit race, is announced.
1991: ERGO, the ergonomics design reclining seat, is announced. ARTIS and ARTIS NAVI having asymmetric forms developed through our accumulated experience of auto racing are announced.
1992: Seat Rail V type integrating side stays and seat rails is announced. BRIX, the special reclining seat for motorsports, is announced.
1993: EURO, BEEMO and BEEMO AERO are announced.
1994: VIOS, the new dimensional weapon for auto racing, is announced. AXIS and LEOS, the high performance seat ZETA with lower support shoulders, are announced. All seats manufactured by BRIDE are compliant with car safety inspection standards.
1995: Low-back seat EXAS, GT car-spec ZIEG and head guard-mounted GARDIS are announced. ZETA-ZZR, the full bucket seat certified by FIA, is announced.
1996: GARDIS-ZZR, the first head guard-mounted seat certified by FIA in the world, is announced. DINOS, the full bucket seat with the detachable head guard mounted, is announced.
1997: The tune-up pad adopting shape-memory urethane is announced.
1998: The new Holding Monster full bucket series ZETA2, ZETA2NEOS, ZIEG2, EXAS2, ARTIS2, ARTIS2NAVI, ZETA2 TypeS, ZETA2 TypeL, DINOS2, MAXIS, and ZEROS are announced. REVS, the super revolution model, is announced. Red version of reclining seat series is announced.
1999: New colors of the carbon Kevlar style added to the tune-up pad series and seat back protectors are announced.
2000: Adjustable seat stay (VF type) exclusively used for motorsports, which is lighter in weight and can lower the driver’s position than the existing seat rail of high rigidity and low-position type, is announced. XAX, the super avant-garde model, is announced.
2001: All models of full bucket seat certified by FIA are announced. VG having the structure where the seat is dropped in between rails to further lower the driver’s position is announced.
2002: Black logo version of reclining seat series is announced.
2003: PROS, the lightweight full bucket seat with the pipe-frame structure for motorsports, is announced. RO type, MO type and F series, the new-type seat rails of tough structure with much higher strength and rigidity than the existing rails, exclusively used for BRIDE seats, are announced. ZETA3, ARTIS3 and EXAS3, the three full bucket series strongly evolved from the existing two series, with much higher performance in every aspect, are announced. BRIX2 and ERGO2, the two series that could be called the crystallization of BRIDE-ism and the ultimate reclining seat, are announced. Multi-caster for changing bucket seats to chairs on casters is announced. Gradation color of BRIDE tradition is announced. ARTIS3 NAVI, ZETA3 Type L and ZETA3 Type S are announced.
2004: XAX2, the SUV model with improved ingress and egress based on ERGO2, is announced. Holding Monster MAXIS3 and GARDIS3, the seats developed exclusively for auto racing, are announced. The wealth of additional ten color variations added to the reclining seat series, including the three highest-quality models selectable for driving styles, entry series and much-anticipated leather series, is announced. The FX type, the lightweight and fixed-type seat stay for motorsports using aluminum side stays of 5 mm thickness and complying with FIA standards, is announced. The full bucket seat of Low Max System (patent
pending), the ultimate super low position system, and the dedicated seat rail LF type are announced. ZETA3 made by FRP is certified by FIA. The much-anticipated WORKS BLUE for both reclining seat and full bucket seat is
announced. The IG type, the seat rail for full bucket seat adopting as standard the super-lightweight and high-rigidity aluminum side stay of 5 mm thickness, is announced.
2005: ZIEG3, the full bucket series belonging to the low max series, is announced. GIAS, the full bucket seat having the reclining mechanism and belonging to the low max series, is announced. ZETA3 SPORT, the simple model for auto racing, is announced. STRADIA, the new model of GIAS series of full bucket seat having the reclining mechanism and belonging to the low max series, is announced. The new seat rails, RX type seat rail and YO type seat rail, are announced.
2006: The luxury floor mat, where the durable rubber mat is laminated to the gradation fabric of BRIDE symbol color, is announced. ZODIA, the model designed exclusively for Lotus Elise and Exige, is announced.
EURO2, the reclining seat of new ergonomics design, is announced. GIAS SPORT and STRADIA SPORT, the FRP versions of the low max series GIAS and STRADIA, are announced. The reclining seat CUGA is announced. The reclining seat VORGA is announced.
2007: VIOS3 SPORT, the simple full bucket seat of high cost performance for auto racing, limited to 1,000 seats, is announced. New VIOS3 SPORT upgraded as a regular series is announced.
2008: The premium seat limited to 100 seats is announced.
2009: GIAS2 and STRADIA2 belonging to the low max series are announced. EURO2 CRUZ, the BRIDE’s first reclining seat with arm rest, is announced. DIGO type-R significantly evolved from DIGO is announced.
STRADIA JAPAN, the non-step reclining seat of high-grade suede fabric, is announced.
2010: The company name is changed to BRIDE CO., LTD. by integrating with a number of smaller private companies.
2011: MAXIS III series, ZIEG III type R series, VIOS III series (except Sports C), VIOS III type R, ZETA III type L series and ZETA III type XL series are certified by FIA standards. The ZETA III type XL, the big size model 30 mm wider than ZETA III type L, is announced. The FT type, the super low position rail for full bucket seat of Nissan R35 (GT-R) securing sufficient head clearance even for tall drivers, is announced. ZETA III Sports C, EXAS III Sports C, and VIOS III Sports C, the models evolved from the sports series, with the strength of seat back improved and the new shell color Clear Black adopted, are announced. The lineup of super-aramid black shells for all models of full bucket seat series is announced. The lineup of super-aramid black shells for GIAS II and STRADIA II is announced.
