Alright, Hi everyone.

Hope you can help me.

I sold my MX5 a few months ago and bought myself an mk4 astra convertible.

At the moment I am saving up some reddys so I can get myself a drift machine on the go.

The thing is I want to build up a step by step diary and have everybody help me in the decisions I need to make.

First up is the car, it might be a month or so before I take delivery of it, but I don't want to spend that much on the car.

At the moment the list I have is as follows.

AE86
MX5 Mk1
S13 or S14
Skyline Gtst

Obviously the car has to be rwd and go like a biatch but I want you to help me make my decision.

I suppose the overall factor is price, and been realistic I suppose I don't want to spend more then £3250 on the car.

Can you help?
 
Mitch has a nice 4 door R32 GTS-T for 1850 for sale :)

Else i'd go with the S13, they are dirt cheap in the UK. You might want to check the SXOC for some cheap s13's, or cheap S14's :)

Would prefer the S14 over the S13 myself, there is something lacking in the S13 department.

I would prefer and R33 gtst, but they're still a bit pricey. Any pics going around of Mitchs R32?
 
Thought I might as well add a bit more information to help people to help me make a decision.

Something fun to drive, gets the back end out.

This will be a drift car turned show car. Looking to make it into a magazine special.

Oh, and it's not my daily driver my Astra Convertible will be, but I would like it to be roadworthy so it can go on the streets, if and when required.
 
The Astra has gone, she has moved to a new home with a very gratious new owner.

At the moment I am pootling around in a stock 1.2 Seat Ibiza so I need my project on the road and quick.

I haven't been around for the last 10 or so days due to a nice relaxing holiday and a house move, but I am now back with an urge to get this car sorted.

A little brainwave I had was an MK2 MR2, but being mid engined I wonder how easy it will be to get the backend out. Can anyone help.
 
not easy at all. i have owned an s14 and a mk2 MR2, the MR2 has it's weight at the back, so when you are accelerating it's hard to control the arse. the weight distribution just isnt the same as the s14.

I wouldnt recommend using an MR2 for drifting.

I really want to have my car within two weeks and at the moment my decision is swaying towards an MX5.

What would you say?

I'm getting an s13 soon, but if you want one to learn in...improve, there is a nice s14 in the for sale section thats drift-ready. it's cookwibbles.

The S14 is one of my favourite drift machines, but I want one completely standard so I can do all the work myself.

etc.....just the annoying and expensive things done like exhaust/fmic/turbo etc. i can take some mods off?
