Building a good s-body street car - bizzleblog project

Mr Bizzle

In Safe Hands
Hello chaps.
It's been a while since I have written up a project. Aim of the game with this one is to build a good, solid, reliable s-body with all the nice little suspension bits. It needs to be just as capable on the road, as it is on the tarmac at pod.

All we ever see on the forums these days are either full on competition/track car builds or scrappy slags. Drifting is about having fun, driving to the track - skidding and driving home again in relative comfort.

That's the aim of the game here - hopefully it'll help some people. Stripped out, harsh track cars FTL :smash: - there is another way!

Cool. Your car came with a Garage D sticker so it must be good for diffing. Innit bluv :D

What Happend to the 15 ?

Got sold - 2 door chassis wasn't going to work - not enough room for what i have to do to resolve some of the engines issues.

* 2 and the R34 Rb30 you were building

RB30 got sold to raise funds.

Old pic, but should answer some questions.

Mr bizzle can just about finish a plate of chips, let alone finish a car lol

I prefer chicken.

Did you keep the S15 fabricated crossmember in the new car, I was really impressed with that?

V8 still looks quite tight.

Indeed i did - the issue wasn't with the space in the engine bay. I don't really want to go into any more detail than that. All that got sold was the bare shell - which i then replaced with something else.

god its never gonna be finished

It will one day. I may get it finished for next year - but i have to get 2 other projects done before i even start to think about it. The money involved with the project is astronimical, hence why it didn't get built during the recession.

Frankly, im really glad it didn't get built the way i was originally planning to do it. It's given me some time to refine the idea - seeing the way Japspeed have done there's has helped confirm a lot of theories i had.

Sweet :D

Whats it going to be like with solid mounts on the road?

I have had this setup on cars before - i really liked it, but each to there own i guess. In my opinion it's a good way to go - Stevo obviously disagrees, but instead of giving people reading the thread the benefit of his vast fabrication experience, we are all going to have to make do with "They are Shit..." . :wack:

yes my vast fabrication experience........

They transfer so much vibration through the car, that lead to cracking on the suspention turrets ive seen it to a few cars one being my s14a when i had cusco mounts and they have some give but i suppose i did do 30000 miles road and drift.

In gereral to much load on parts without out any shock damping leads to fatigued spot weld or any weak point well something has got to give... as we all know that the roads are shit.

Like dan said ok for a track car but stupid for a road car are a no no in my eyes.

But i see you have taken all this into account with your vast engineering and fabricating knowledge.

As for hocky pucks there better because they have some give to maintain some sort shock damping.
