CA18 Sump modification sugestions

Hi people.

Currently building an e30 318det with my old stage 2 CA (build thread is finally made )

Been doing a bit research into stoping CA's from spinning shells and the lads on Hardtuned.net make winged sumps with sometimes additional trap doors.

Can anyone suggest what things to look out for and what could I use to make a hinge (trap door)

Will be cutting and tacking everything in place myself and then will get the welder at work to TIG it (he welds like a BOSS!)

Just like to slightly revive this thread. Doing more searching on this and a lot of people say that CA's kill bottom end bearings due to other stuff like poor return from the head?
Any tips or what to search for to see more solutions to help a CA last daily abuse on streets and track abuse?

make a new breather to replace the shit one under the inlet. you could investigate the oil return mods people do to Rb engines.

Cheers dude! Seen a few people mention the breather under the inlet. A lot of people recommend running twin catch tank set up too (need to look more into it.
Something as simple as cleaning out the oil pick up?
