hiya , recently bought a gem of an s13 , standard Ca engine , exhaust and k&n , when cold the engine idles from 850 to 1k rpm occasionally hitting 1200ish , as soon as it gets to working temp , halfway up temp gauge it will suddenly idle at 2000-2150 rpm I suspect it is the aac at fault , I have removed and cleaned this out , it looks like someone had already been there before me as one of the screws on the solenoid was cross threaded in on the piss so could be that missing parts maybe , anyone have any clues or ideas on what could be the problem , if I remove the aac plug the car idles at around 1500rpm any help is much appreciated

Cheers for reply Sorry to sound like a noob but pretty new to these how would I go about doing that ? , also the a/c isn’t working wether that is part of the problem , cheers

Check for boost leaks. On my rb25det I had a big boost leak (a boost nipple under throttle body not blocked -.-) and my idle would go from occasional 900 to 2500, often idling at ~2000. Once the "leak" was fixed it idles fine at 900.

Search this site for "idle issues" and see what others have done. You're not the first to have idle issues with a CA.

Check you're getting a constant 12V at the AAC solenoid
If you are, pressure test the intake system (from compressor inlet) for leaks
If that's ok, swap on a know working AFM and AAC valve
If there's still no difference, check continuity between the AFM and the ECU signal wire (check ECU is properly seated in harness plug too)
If there's still an issue take it to an auto sparky and get him to check the TPS voltages

Replaced said vac line and stilll having the issue Ever since I have changed over the aac with one with a brown plug and still no good will pick up to around 1500 bit have changed back to original green one when it gets to operating temp it’s like a switch is flicked and it raises to 2000 as soon as it gets to the middle of the temp gauge
