Can an R35 GT-R Drift? Proof is in the pudding...

Hi guys,

Since it was launched last year and since I first tested it, I was loving the GT-R. I know to drifting purists it isnt ideal as it is designed for grip, and grip it does, but I have been hankering after trying its drifting abilities, just so I know first hand.

I was surprised by the results. This is a quality car. Sure, we broke it, and got through $$$$'s worth of tires, but it was all in the name of science!

Check this out..

well done you got one of the most grippist car ever to loose traction not sure it was driftin tho more like a smokey donut.

I read this crap on some news website somewhere. I could get a Freelander to do that with enough room.

I could have saved you all that trouble if you have pm`d me. I have a simple equation that will tell you what speed it`ll slide and what speed it`ll turn over on a nice constant radius corner like that;)

Matty - your glasses are slipping down your nose, be sure to push them up the bridge of your nose whilst snorting and scoffing :wack:

I just never thought it could do that, surely? Especially as apparently the warranty completely voids if anyone does do it, as Nissan can analyse every mile driven in a GT-R once plugged in... Makes you kinda wonder if Nissan really doesnt want you to do it that perhaps the hardware cant cope with the abuse?

Fail.

I'd have happily taken you out in my 34 5 years ago to show what Attessa can do. And no, as said, its not drifting in the slightest !!

Nice accent hombre !!

Every mile?? With all what data storage?

Anyways, i`m sure nissan tested their drive train enough so some guy with a funny voice can do some circles in a car park.

Did you have anything to do with the video nick?? You make it sound like you did but you have no idea about anything skyline related. Not even simple read it on the net stuff.

Who is Lucas Ordones and why do you think he's some kind of driving god?
My Neice gets more angle on her highchair.
Fail for the toffs.

He won the GT Academy.

Which I think is the "You bought a new performance Nissan and can have a go at this if ya like" contest. Theres several people on GTR Register discussing this and have said that they "won" various rounds in the past, and I know almost all of them are averagely fast trackday drivers, who to be fair have done quite a bit of training but are usually still no better than 7/10. Theres the odd one like Shane Smith who then go on and do something with that training like Time Attack for example, but they're still no Ollie Clark.

For example Rocket Ronnie, who is old, grey and a bit wonky would murder the lot of them in similar equipment.

:D :D
