Hi all , if anyone has seen my previous builds you all know I love a project....

This s15 isn’t any different
I Purchased this n/a auto from Japan a couple of months ago and have just picked it up today.
I was mega apprehensive about buying blind however I think I’m onto a winner.
I bought it after the sale of my n/a s13 and immediately regretted it as I loved captain slow, however today seeing the new captain up close and very personal I feel this will be a worthy replacement.....

As said earlier it’s an auto spec s with 292000km on the clock , no that’s not a typo it has 292000km on the clock. Crazy right?????
Well here’s a few snaps from earlier, I’ll leave you to make up your mind if it has done that mileage .....

So plans for the new chariot....

I have a sr20det stage 2 redtop manual conversion to go into it, when I have all the pieces to the manual puzzle,
Then I will sort Coilovers and I’m looking to put a set of buddy club P1s on it ,
Kit wise I’m going to see how it looks on the P1s first

Thanks

More updates soon

Sweet! Very nice considering the mileage. Looking forward to what you do with this one I loved the 13!

Nice one mate, very similar to my Spec S which just arrived today, funnily enough I am going redtop SR20 also.

Cheers dude yeah I was worried about the mileage but now I’ve seen it , I’m not worried at all , yeah I miss my 13 , probably won’t go crazy with this...... for now

Sweet have you got the conversion all ready to go?

I have everything bar the Turbo/Injectors/ECU/Wiring. I am currently in the process of changing a few things on the engine when its out, refreshing the bearings and replacing the valve springs etc.

There is a few pictures and information in my build.

Buddyclubs look great on a s15
Took them of my s13 project to have some wheels on for now but will change them later on for some cst's

So yesterday was a horrible wet day and couldn’t do anything to the 15,

I’ve started building up the conversion parts for the redtop and manual conversion,

Got pedals and clutch master and slave

I’ve still got to source an intercooler , exhaust and prop, I’m hoping to get the whole lot for the end of the month to do the conversion after it’s on the road.

Had bit of time to have more of a look over the car whilst it’s mint inside, in the bay and underneath the paint is not great.
On the roof there is an ugly patch that I’m not sure what’s happened

Also on the drivers rear quarter

I’m going to give it a bloody good polish up as there is a few scratches etc I guess from storage etc

Overall I’m still happy with it and looking forward to driving it as is and then with the conversion

More goodies to buy and more things to come....

Nothing major to show but the car passed its first mot this weekend! Very happy and the tester was very impressed with how clean it is and did say “I bet your going to ruin it” ha ha this is supposed to be a subtle build ......
More bits too but and registration to complete before it hits the roads

Another step forward this weekend, got the redtop onto the Engine stand ready for a clean up, then started stripping it down....

Didn’t take long at all to get it stripped ready for degreasing

Can’t wait to get scrubbing, need a clean engine to go into the clean bay ,the cam cover has a few chips in it so I’m going to get it painted although not sure what colour ?

Had a little bit of time so decided to make a start on polishing up the s15 headlights as they were very very cloudy ,got the autosol out and got rubbing, and am very impressed with the results

Top is polished up , bottom isn’t .

Going to get the Engine cleaned up this week and start rebuilding it and I have a big list of parts still to get....

Well how has it been 4 and a half years since I got my hands on the s15…..

a lot has happened I still have the s15 and it’s still not finished‍♂️♂️

Various job changes- house moves and having twins I’m finally getting chance to finish what I started!

without going picture crazy I’ll keep it brief for now,

so the redtop is in all bolted up

once all bolted up with looms in place various issues arose. I was not getting earth which was driving me mad for a long long time!! After trying every earth, every sensor etc and what was 3 years of swearing ! We found that an earth on the ecu was broken!! All that time and a simple issue !

then I had spark but the car would not fire! It was flooding …. A lot! and found the injectors were seized open I guess from the old fuel.
I got new injectors threw them in and boom! It fired, but …. Wouldn’t turn off! More swearing and unbolted the rail again to find that I had pinched an o ring and fuel was getting passed 3 of the injectors! I got a rebuild kit and tried again and finally the car was running ! I was so happy!!
Now where the car has been sat I’m starting to give everything a clean up !

I have removed the abs and got a bm50 master cylinder, gave the booster a paint up and refitted! Next it’s the clutch master and slave cylinder they are a bit crusty so need a clean up!

I originally wanted P1 wheels but came across a very nice freshly painted set of R33 Gtr wheels and I feel they fit the s15 nicely!

Then I wanted to add a set of spec r skirts and spats but having a lack of funds I got a set of fibreglass copies which look like they will fit really well when painted and feel they work really well with the wheels.

I will fit the skirts and spats ready for when the car has a respray in the winter.

over the last few years I have been buying bits here and there for a full chassis rebuild and under seal so have turned into a massive “bolt on billy” but feel that it will be worth it in the long run!

so below is basically all bushes / arms/ ball joints and lines and subframe with fresh steering rack !
I went with the driftworks handling pack and matched it with the destroy or die full front setup.

I have brake lines but need to get the z32 calipers discs and pads and also new anti roll bars and that will be the front complete and I will underseal the front end before fitting the new setup.

I have also started getting the rear components ready for the refresh as well as the z32 rear brake setup .

So next is fitting the front brake end chassis parts as the weather is now better and continue to clean up the engine bay and sort the rear end chassis parts.

hope to have another update soon!
