Captain's E36 Widebody Build

Hello everyone again I have another build goin on and I sold the Audi A4 drift project to start and build my 96 BMW 328i. I've been wait for this day for a looooooonnng time and it has come....some what.

History about the car........well I bought it from the guy after warming it up and checking it and after driving 15mins away it started to over heat and the battery light was on. I thought WTH I just got into......just to find out....not only did I have to rig the fan to work but the water pump blows up on me. Well instead of getting mad and asking for my money. I came in terms of agreement for him to pay for part and get it installed(I could've done it but it's free). Since then she's been great. I really put my all in all my work and the work I do for my customers. I make a living traveling to (Jobs) fixing and helping people with builds or simply changing parts. But I do it almost daily. And I'm just one guy lol. But I do enjoy getting down and dirty like a true grease monkey.

Well here are a few pics of what's done so far.

Sorry guys I know I've been slow on showing the progress but I've been working alot lately and I had a son so you know....life things. Buutttt here's what I gotten to so far.

-blew the 2.8l motor and I bought an 2.5l just to turbo it for the time being. While waiting for parts I'm slowly designing panels for the doors and I've started ordering parts and so far the oil catch can, oil filter and gasket plus housing gasket, cam sensor (M50) should be in soon.

-I have also received a few Nik nacks to stiffing the suspension which it needs very badly.

So far it's been slow like I said but I'll be soon making a few videos of the car for my YouTube channel @driftf2life so stay tuned for that. I do want to motor swap it to a 1jz, or ls, hell maybe even an SR.

Ok so this morning I decided to call the junk yard for a favor, to see if I could swap my motor at there facility and surprised they did allow me to bring it in. He even came over his self to pick the car up.

After loading it up and getting there then unloading (Total of 15mins) I backed it into a corner next to an E46 that has an bad head gasket. As I started taking off the intake manifold I seen that it wasn't seeded all the way.......so that tells me why it didn't want to catch and fire up. I saw oil at the bottom of the pan once I took out the dipstick, so it still has lube, but Im sure this motor is done. Before parking it I heard so many noises from the engine that it sound like a concert and a firework parade.
Anyway the manifold melted to the head and somehow cause it to rise off the head Abit.

Ended up going to the local pick n pull for one and didn't see not one. Then I asked the guy that at the yard if he could find (which he did) and for a cheaper price then eBay lol. Which should I trust...haha just play. So now I have it ordered and next is the clutch. Plan on getting a stage 4 six puck. So far the wire harness, radiator, fans, hoses, belts, intake, motor mounts and some other are out of the car at the moment. Here's a few pics.

Alright guys so to make this M50 swap work I had to do alot of custom configurations and alot of reading.

Now here's what you/I know so far ...
96 BMW 328i 5 speed
Now it has the 94 325i motor in it which is going to be turbo. Reason why I down graded was I found alot of these motor for cheap, paid $100 US dollars for it and it runs. Everything was plug and play besides 30% of it the electrical and a few mechanicals. I have more of the build on my YouTube channel @driftf2life.

Also you can follow the build on my FB business/fan page @ https://www.facebook.com/streetstarscustoms/

Hello everyone I'm back and............how was everyone's holidays.....I hope everyone had a blessed one.

Haven't been doing too much on the car since dealing with a death in the family.

So to get back to business, I have a few updates on the car since recently had the spare time and energy........
First we start off with the engine outside of the car, the hood I went ahead a removed the paint and I also added some mesh grill vents.

I've also been tuning my own car and I've done really good so far.
I have three types of files and one just for a turbo. I still need help on some of it. And if I have any Cali friends or any friends that have any interest in swapping motors for shits and giggles...or what not. I like the M50 but I just want to play with something else.

Those images are awesome. You definitely know how to turn things around...

need more updates. I'm a fan of all the wild shit you've got going, excited to see it boosted
Boosted coming very soon,. Just waiting on a lil money for the small but important parts. I have been doing all kinds of Frankenstein work to cars. Making panels out of loose and broken parts. This one seems to like everything I throw at her.

Interesting build, I always liked E36, they are bit special.
Btw, where are the pictures you mentioned above? lol

Oh wow didn't know they didn't post. Sorry about that. My phone has been acting weird since leaving it under the hood while driving and testing a few things lol.

Hey guys. Here some updats and some bad news.

First the good news.
I've managed to get some workwdone on the e36

I ordered rear spacers and had to do a little fabing work on the studs seeing they were too long.

Ok now the bad news is the cops took my car due to me moving it on the streets. So now I have to either start over or figure out how to come up with fee money.

I've dumped money on tuning software and devices and not to mention saving whatever I could while being a dad at the same time.

Not sure when I'll be back in the game but I'll be in touch with some of you.
