car wrapping

any car wrapping experts on here? was planning to paint the whole car but now thinking of wrapping.......urgently need advise on wrapping

Very interested in this myself.

I understand that the total car can be done for 400 - 500 quid with a 10 year "materials" life expectancy.

I'm guessing that one panel can be re-paired by re-wrapping in the same material code (which is a huge bonus).

My only thing is, i want gloss black. I have only seen matt wraps and i hear that the gloss finishes are not great.

So ya....... defo interested in getting some info also!

hi i do vinyl wrapping or at least have done it professionly. ask away ?

full car wraps usally between 700 - 1000 (decent wrap)

i only use 3m wraps and the gloss finnish is supurb you would not know the difference in wrap or paint at all.

car cannot have rust oe major damage.

also done lots of carbon and different effects

Do you have any close up pics, I have never seen a wrap that looks even 50% as good as a decent respray, they always have the normal vinyl ripple effect.

im located in kent although its no longer my profession, yeah i do ill upload some later sure i have some close ups. if you use cheap wrap then you get that horrible ripple effect if you spend the money on 3m or similar they youll get a great finnish

Hi everyone i do car wrapping for a living have done it for couple years now and the other guys here alot lot longer
Prices start from £800 upwards depending on material required
Door shuts are extra but not that much yet again depending if its a 3 door or a 5 door
Materials we use are hexis , avery , 3m
You can decide if you have a preference
Time to wrap a car is 2 days but if its a larger car with more door shuts may run into a 3rd
Alloy wheel refurbs £160 base price including any colour of paint you want

We do not plasti dip ! We have seen good cars ruined please dont even think of getting that done !
Pm me with the following

would u have any link to the 3m vinyl? there so many vinyl out there and so many different prices. don't really know what good and whats not.

No don't plasti dip lol it's crap.. I've spent all day removing mine that was to thin to peel off.

So much this!

A gloss wrap isn't going to give you a show-car like paint finish, but it's good enough for a daily driver/race car/drift car/etc

I do vinyll wrapping, just finishing off a jeep i am doing.

Will post pics later.

The quality of the wraps has come on so much in the last few years, and you would be hard pushed to tell the difference to paint on looks alone. The darker colours like black etc aren't as deep as paint, but the finish can be amzing. Peolpe forget that it also depends on the condition on the paint beneath and occasionally will highlight flawed paint rather than hide it.

Its not an option for everyone, but am happy to discuss pro and cons, including prices and finishes.
