Chaser/Crown/Mark2 parts availability

Hi guys,

Not a drifter, but since there are a lot of people over here with the described Toyotas, I'd thought I'd give it a try. Also was not really able to find a dedicated group/forum in The Netherlands, since there are not a lot of these in Holland I guess.

Since I'm a big fan of the Chaser/Crown/Mark2/etc. bodies including the 1JZGTE I'm thinking of dailying (is this a word?) one for a while. I live in The Netherlands and these cars were obviously never sold over here, so it would probably come down to importing one from the UK or Japan.

Anyways, my main concern is the availability of parts and where to get them from (UK, Japan, etc). Is there for instance stock available in the UK? Like specialists? I know most of these cars also have never been sold in the UK officially so I guess not. I'm not planning on crazy mods, so focusing on regular maintenance.

Thanks for any answer that will help!

Ps, if there are any Dutchies with one of these cars, any help is much appreciated :)

I recently had to replace some parts for my MOT such as front brake pads. I chanced it that IS200 pads would fit, which they sort of did on the front, but not on the rear.

The Toyota parts bin is pretty big, I think it’s about knowing what other models share serviceable parts. The aftermarket is huge, so for arms and engine maintenance you shouldn’t have any problems.

You can order the parts online from U.K. distributors but I was in need of brake pads there and then so made the fronts work.

As for body panels, it would have to come from Japan unless you found someone breaking a car and selling what you needed.

Thanks! Yeah I'm mainly aiming at "regular" service, so incident damages aside. I used to own a Mitsubishi FTO for two years and I could get the parts via the UK.

Do you have recommendations where to order parts in the UK? Ebay? Or dedicated websites?

Thanks Adam1JZ! Unfortunately when parts have to come from Japan or Australia, shipping cost and time will be involved. If there is any specialist in the UK for example, it would save me both. But indeed, so far Ebay seems to have the most complete stock.

Other question, is there some kind of parts list available for these bodies? For the FTO for example I used to have access to the dealer database, which was very useful in finding the correct part numbers.

I own a jzx100 chaser in the uk. toyota stock most parts and are easy to get hold of but the price can be high. saying that though sometimes parts are cheaper from them brand new then they are second hand on eBay.

there is Facebook page called jzmafia which is uk based but will also help you.

company's to buy stuff from
toyota
driftworks
garage d
blackwing garage
garage wolfbitz
