Cheap AE86's for sale!!!!

Kaizousha never updates their lists, only adds to them occasionally. Chances are most of them are sold now... :(

king buyer is apparently :dermal: ,
but still, anone know how much one of these would cost landed over here?

p.s 'yen imports' was trying to list several of those same exact cars as 'in stock in japan' and not one of them was under £3500!
this black one he wanted £4400 for if i remember correctly due to it apparently being a 'genuine black limited' and 'mint condition' even though in the pic of the back you can see rust on the tailgate :wack:

The first one is the best i reakon, as it looks to have a pair of webers bolted to the head and that usually means more mods are lurking under them cam covers etc! :) :D

Can anyone answer me this..... i understand that there are so many Jap import cars coming to this country due to the japs emmisions reg's are very tight, and we are getting more and more modern vehicles imported nowadays, but why have AE86's stayed in Japan for so long before being imported!?! Surely their emmisions are shite compared to the modern stuff Jap turn out now!

Have to say thats a good demonstration of why there are lots of people here suddenly gone into importing cars........ :smash: The bubble will burst soon, trust me

Funny you should ask that really, a few years ago I had the opportunity to start importing cars and I had the idea of getting a load of AE86s from Japan. I ran the idea past alot of people and everyone of them either said: "if there's any money in it then someone would already have done it." or they said: "Ha Ha, yeah right, like anyone is going to buy an imported one of them when they can get Skylines quite cheap now." I never did start importing cars.

The answer to your question: There's way too much of a negative attitude from almost everyone in the country and there's not enough people that want to go outside of what's normal (like importing bloody Pajeros and Estima Enimas). There also seems to be too many importers that are in it for a quick buck rather than because they are enthusiasts that know what people want.

Before anyone jumps in with "yeah but yeah but yeah but" I never said every importer was crap or that everyone has a negative attitude. Nor did I say I was some kind of bloody business genius.

Fair enough i suppose! So in a way your saying, AE86's are only now being imported because they are getting ever more popular and theres not enough british spec '86's to go around! ??

But another question, how come the AE86's werent scraped in Japan years ago! I imagine there was alot that were, but there seems to be and endless supply coming out of Japan at the mo!
Anyone here live or has lived in Japan no any info??

There's plenty of AE86s in Japanese scrapyards and the reason there's loads of them out there is because they were popular since day one. Unlike here where they were popular when people finally dropped the snob attitude towards Japanese cars. Infact in terms of popularity they were like Saxos and 106s are in the UK. I'm not sure if its true but I was also told that its very difficult to get an AE86 through a Japanese MOT. That would explain why alot of them are now leaving Japan as people now can't be bothered to do the necessary work to make them road legal. There's also the fact that in some parts of Japan cars just don't seem to rust at all (or at least not much) so there is often no real reason to scrap them unless they were wrapped around a lamp post or something.

As well as the drifting,Initial D made AE86's popular again.I read that for the live action film version of Initial D,some new 86's were supplied by Toyota, although I think the rumour that Toyota will put it back into production is a bit far fetched :)

It would be a stupid and impossible idea if the AE86 was put back into production! One reason, our cars would then be worthless! And they wouldnt be able to make it like it used to be! Due to all the latest regulations! The car would weigh 2 tons and have 5 airbags on board etc! haha

I wanna go to Japan now and hunt through there scrap yards! Gotta be better than ours, which are full of rovers etc! lol :D

twincams (ae86) have always been massive over here , theres a lot over here and even more now iwth the jap imports coming over ...for me i love it , i love the whloe jap import sceen and all what way the jap style there cars and i think its about time that we did see a really good difference in makeup of not only ae86 but also s13,s14,s15 etc......i just think that and this is my view that ae86 are over priced or is it that the other cars like s13 etc are too under priced ??? never the less i love ae86's and always have done .....esp now with the different ones that are coming into ireland ...not the usual lowered on 13" superlites with a janspeed exhaust ......no offence to anyone that has that ....just when u seen as many as i have like that they be come very boaring :)

There more webistes with regular updates like this? Hopefully when I go over there next year, Hachi' Roku's are top of my list! :worthy:

I'd have to agree, its good to see them coming into Ireland without the usual: "engine, diff, gearbox 100% fucked" But do they have to be shipped over to England first so that they can be advertised as: "Just out of England" ? They don't seem to make much money if their not.

yeah, I agree with rob. 86's are waaaay overpriced and S13 are waaaaaaaaaaaaaay underpriced. someone swap it round please:)

Scum never has been a thriving commodity, unlike rust, which is far more chic.
